So, where do we go from here?

Not really sure what his issues are. He seems to have some good moments and then flounders. Certainly could put on a few pounds of muscle if they are going to use him inside. No matter who is playing inside next year, they need to be more productive than this year's post players.

It's 100% defense for Enuruna. Take the number of times it's obvious to casual fans that he's completely lost and I bet there's 2x more times where the coaching staff is seeing deficiencies.

He kind of reminds me of Terrance Lewis, where they're fine on offense, then you get to the other end of the floor and it looks like they've never played the sport before.

I know Gabe didn't play well toward the end of the season, but it really shows up when you look at his +/- rating in the last 8 games:

WVU (W) -1
KSU (W) -7
OSU (L) -13
BU (L) -12
TTU (L) -28
LSU (W) -3
WiS (W) +6
MIA (L) -7

Only one game with a positive rating. At least he picked a big game to turn things around!

He also had some good games earlier in the season so I won't give up on him if he returns. I am hoping we have more depth at his position though. He averaged 31 minutes/game, and it seemed like a lot of his shooting and TO problems were in the last 10 minutes of the game.

It's not like he only had one good game in those, though. He had really good games against Baylor and WVU and was tied for our leading scorer against Miami.

IMO, it's probably related to help defense. He seems to stay in front of his guy okay, and there were many, many times where he'd get pulled fairly quickly on a possession where it didn't look like he had been burned by his guy.

9-10 conference wins aint getting us the 4 seeded needed for Des Moines
Top 4 seed doesn't necessarily do it for us, got to be seeded at min. 2nd best of team nearby. Only other non-coastal sites are Denver and Columbus.

Regardless of where in the game his turnover problems were, it was a huge problem. In the second half of the season (Mizzou game on) he had 44 turnovers in 15 games which is about 3 TOs a game. In those same 15 games he had 18 assists which is barely more than 1 assist a game (1.2). That is an A/TO ratio of .4. That is a ratio of an old school big man who can't pass the ball, not a guard.

Rarely have I seen a guy step on the baseline and sideline so much in a season.

So as of today, we're going with Green, Williams, and Basile?
Green is still undecided as to what he's doing, he'll likely test NBA waters etc. Both Williams and Basile are being recruited by multiple programs, Iowa State included. This time of year moves real fast though so while I like both guys, I wouldn't pencil them in as Cyclones yet.

Not to bag on him, but I don't know if I have ever seen a P6 guard make as many completely careless, lazy passes as Gabe. You would think that part would be easy to fix.

My guess is that Dad knows what Green will do.
And I like our chances.

Things like this are why I think it's important there are enough guys brought in where the ball is just not in Gabe's hands nearly as much next year. While he showed a lot of good in the tournament, he's got to take some strides to become a net neutral on offense.

He had a lot.

In the previous two seasons, it was more evenly distributed, pretty much anyone with significant playing time did it least 5 times. Sometimes multiple occurrences in a single game. It's one of my final memories of the Prohm era (other than all the losses).

Seems like this season it was happened more frequently later in the year, was fairly 'clean' in that regard for most of the time.
