I don't know if this thread can be saved at this point. I feel like it probably needs shut down.

George Conditt can't even have a good appreciation thread.

I'll do my best to get it back on track and give it some positive momentum.

I think he definitely has a home playing somewhere internationally, and I can see him becoming a crowd favorite as well, especially once he starts blocking some shots into the stands.

Interesting ISU career for him; two good seasons at the start and end of his career, with the middle being filled in by a bad and then all-time worst program season ever. I imagine it was quite a roller coaster for him. I am happy for him that he got to be on a winning team at the end and more importantly be an big part of bringing the program back to being proud and respectable. In the end I think that counts for more than his stat line.

George C will always be remembered fondly by me/most all of us. Loved the pre-season chicken hot sauce video! That was hilarious. Loved the song and dance with Isaiah after the NYC championship.

A microcosm, if you will.

My sarcastic 'What about Gabe!?' or whatever thread got shut down right after the game Friday. I'd guess someone started spouting off which only proved the point.

My hope is any in-person interactions with fans go way better for these players that deserve gratitude for their efforts.

George Conditt will be missed. In our last 8 games, George had a positive ÷/- rating in the 4 wins and a negative +/- rating in the 4 losses. He may go down as one of the most underrated players in ISU history. People didn't like his silly fouls, but most of them weren't a big deal. We never had to worry about George taking a bad shot. He finished this season with a 66.3% FG%.

Don't forget 70% from the line. That's an area a lot of big guys really struggle at and George was one of the best on the team in that regard.

I think there were a lot of unrealistic expectations for Conditt coming into a recruiting class with some off-the-charts talent. It was easy to say "And they're bringing in this big guy who can be just as good as THT and Haliburton!" He wasn't, and he never claimed to be, but he stuck through tough seasons and was a key component of this year's team that went further than his classmates ever did. Best of luck, George!

Dang, the disrespect is heavy for the 1A schools I guess. You might be surprised at what some of the small schools can do.

It's not so much disrespect for 1A schools as much as it is earned disrespect for a poster, whether he's a troll or not, who goes out of his way to be a spectacular a$$hole towards anyone and everyone, most notably towards a now former Cyclone student-athlete who bled the Cardinal and Gold for four years and gave it his all every time he was on the court. Big difference.

George's defense was underrated this year. Seemed like he bought into the new defensive philosophy as much as anyone. Other than McCormack in Ames and Lampkin in Fort Worth, I don't remember any bigs really going off against this squad.

George never developed offensively as we might have hoped.

But he was a high-level defensive center and great on the boards as a senior.

You don't end up as #5 nationally in defensive efficiency with a bad defender in the middle of it.

I really would have liked to see what George could have done with 4 years of Kyle Green coaching him. I don't blame him one bit for not coming back. You get to a certain point that you are ready to just move on with the next part of your life.
