Eddie Lemos commits

It is possible he was offered a scholarship and it was pulled, or the previous “offer” listed was just a PWO offer. There’s always different variables for choosing walk on at a P5 or taking a scholarship at a different level-

Actually wanting to attend the school for a certain major.

Girlfriend/friends attending school.

Parents have money and scholarships don’t matter to you.

Liking the situation and betting on yourself to earn the scholarship.

And so on.

Watch #79 RT for Buffalo against the Chiefs on Sunday. He was a PWO at ISU & Iowa, took his only scholy offer at UNI. Drafted in 3rd round guaranteed 3yr @ $800,000. Has started since game 3 and doing very well. So, lots of difference between a PWO and a walk on. Played small school 8-man was why he was over looked, which is hard to do when you are 6'8"+.
Sure it can happen. Still relatively rare to have a story like that though. I hope they all can maximize their potential, it’s just hard for me to really have those expectations for them.

All offers and PWO offers are here in the first 5 posts and it's pinned to the top of the football forum: https://cyclonefanatic.com/forum/threads/2022-football-targets-offer-list-in-op-4.238894/
As it seems you likely already know, Jacob Ellis also needs to be added to the list, including whether his offer was as a preferred walk on or scholarship.

So technically speaking it is not correct that "all offers and PWO offers are here in the first 5 posts."

I speculated that Jacob's offer is scholarship, in these posts:
... but I don't know that.

From posts earlier in that thread than those two, it also seems that a reasonable inference is that Ellis was offered a scholarship after others left the team via the portal -- and that that is why his name first popped in a newspaper article that I linked in your 2022 recruiting thread -- that I linked on December 28, 2021:

Or in other words, that is perhaps why he wasn't on your list. Or it could be that the coaching staff just decided to extend another offer.

Regardless, it is clear now that he needs to be added.

Like others here, I appreciate what you do.

Thanks. That’s what I figured.

In hindsight I should have asked you explicitly when I posted that Jacob Ellis article, instead of just prefacing it “Appears new.”

It is easy for things to get lost or buried by later posts. I did do a search by name first and looked closely at your lists, which is why I indicated “appears new.” When you later updated your lists and he still wasn’t listed I figured you still didn’t know. But it was also possible what I had posted was just overlooked. I know you are busy.

Thanks again!
