It's not a perfect comparison, but I find it similar to the threads about something that a poster will write "Why are we even discussing this subject? Who cares?!!?" in their initial post about it, and then write five more times in the same thread making sure that the rest of the posters in the thread are aware of just how much they really don't care about the subject. Well, when you post 5 different times in a thread that you tell us you really don't care about...

Look, I'm not trying to be snarky or come off as an over-aggressive fan boy, and I apologize if you got that impression. I'm honestly a bit fascinated, that's all.

All good. I'm just as fascinated seeing a response this long in a simple movie thread about whether people like a movie or not. You like all these movies. I think they're fine but not great. I'm done with this convo, it honestly makes no sense to me and not worth taking over this thread.
 
"Spoiler-Free Review" of Spider-Man: No Way Home

Whew, that was one long wait to see this movie, but it was worth it in the end. Had a blast in the movie. Found the first half to be a bit all over the place and a bit overloaded at times, where my brain struggled to comprehend everything happening. Part of that was due to a lot of exposition and part of that was me going a bit too easter egg overload in my own mind. This isn't knocking the Easter Eggs, as I love them, but I'm such a nerd that I can get so giddy in my mind seeing each and every one that it takes me out of the story. I'm then constantly trying to catch back up. This is why I tend to like all these Superhero movies more on my second viewing when I'm all settled down. Anyway, moving on to the second half of the movie, my mind finally settled in at the same time the story all started to come together in a very satisfying delightful way. The end was really great and satisfying and I'm interested to see what comes next. Is it my favorite Spider-Man movie? I honestly need to see it again to determine that, but regardless, it is clearly one of the best and probably the most fun one. This is definitely an event movie on par with the likes of all the Avengers movies.

As for the mid-credits scene, while fun, I will admit I'm still a bit perplexed as to why they went the direction they did with it. Sorry for the overload dump of posts here, but I've had a lot pent-up just waiting to get out.

Is anyone else like me where they get so hyped and amped-up in these movies where you can't settle yourself down to actually enjoy it sometimes? At least it takes a good half of the movie to do so. It is really starting to piss me off and why I actually look forward to my second viewing more than my first.
 
I really want to say I like Holland as Spidey and I think he's the best one. But even if you are a Tobey guy or an Andrew guy we can admit the prior two series of Spider-Man films all ended with a thud, and the final movies they were in are actively bad.

I thought this was actually kind of nice - there was a bit of redemption for those two guys and their roles. I thought Garfield absolutely nailed this movie. I thought he was outstanding. Even Tobey, who hasn't been in a movie in a very long time, kind of got to leave his time as the character in a great place. We kind of found out what happened to those guys. I thought that was great.

Honestly I'm the type of person who just gets wrapped up in movies. It's actually something like most about films or TV shows. My brain shuts down and I just take stuff in. I never see twists coming. I'm always surprised. It's fun.

I avoided that by going after work when I was already tired and just ready to go along for the ride.

I agree. If this movie does anything super well, it gives great closure to both those stories to the point where we can forgive the previous sour tastes left in our mouth. I'd be lying if I said I don't now kind of want to see an Amazing Spider-Man 3. Also, that Tobey youth pastor line was the funniest one in the whole movie. The entire theater was dying laughing.

I know this is a Marvel thread but I think there might be some people in here who will appreciate this. (We really need to get him to drop one of these in an MCU movie, I would go bananas ;))

I actually find it difficult, for any movie, in theaters. Sensory overload for me, I think. Sound, while great, is too loud, the screen is so big I feel like my eyes are trying to focus on more than one thing at a time, etc. if any of that make sense.

I love going to the theater, but I feel like I settle in and am able to grasp content more while at home.

Plenty of air, I'd say.
I didn't actually watch the Netflix shows, so there's an off chance there are connections I wouldn't see, but it looked like this was written for an unfamiliar audience, but with enough to tip the hat to those with a background watching those shows.

I was waiting and kept expecting more Spider-men to show up like Into the Spider-Verse. If it's truly a multi-verse that was crossing over into Tom Holland's universe, then there should've been more than the 2 extra Spider-Men that we saw. And maybe they are like Venom and we just didn't see them on screen, but are hanging out in like Madrigal or some place confused as hell.

At least we know Miles will eventually show up. You don't include the Electro foreshadowing unless you're going to use him IMO

Also love that they did a Sinister 6 finally, but the 6th member was off getting drunk. LOL

I'd say that Electro's scenes did that for me. I thought they were great, but really bright for my old man eyes.

I basically try to get seats all the way in the back row.

Probably good advice. Yeah, the sensory overload is a big thing. Part of why I prefer the 2nd-viewing home experience as well, especially when watched on my 65 inch 4K HDR TV with a 4K Blu Ray Disc. Especially for dark scenes like that Electro scene, I can WWWAAAYYY more tell what is going on at home. Granted, my Marcus theater doesn't have the 4K laser projectors like some premium theaters do, so that likely would help, but since I've never seen a movie in one, I can't tell you how much. With all that said, the social aspect of the theater experience still has a lot of value to me, so it is a give and take. I value both.
