This came up recently in a game I was watching...don't remember which one...it may have even been NFL. Anyway, what the ref commentator said is that the refs are told to kind of ignore the players who are trying to call time out without having any left, but if it is real obvious (like in the face of the ref), or the coach does it, they may throw the flag, which I think was done in the game I was watching.

It was the Vikings game and I think against Baltimore

It was recent, and I haven't watched a Vikes game in awhile...maybe it was one of the Thanksgiving day NFL games??? I don't know.

In any case, it was an informative explanation; you do see this from time to time in FB games, and I've always wondered why the refs don't throw the flag.

I'm not saying anyone else is more deserving.... it's just a weak year for teams IMO. Cincy and ND are nothing special whatsoever IMO. Michigan is pretty good.... and Georgia is really good. Georgia should win this thing running away.

Normally i would hate to see ND in the playoffs, but I actually want them in this year. would be fun to see freeman win it all and then Kelly fall on his face next year.

Michigan is definitely a better match up for Iowa than tOSU would have been.... that's for sure.
