Ok, this season's over. Wouldn't it be good to get Dekkers some reps? Sure let Purdy have the start, whatever, but give the guy of the future the bulk of the reps.

No. You let Purdy play every snap available and let him go out as the all time leading passer in ISU history and with respect that he deserves. He deserves a standing ovation on Friday for senior night.

Absolutely not! I will be there next week and at whatever bowl game we are in and want to see Brock Purdy put an exclamation point on his incredible career at Iowa State.
cmon man don’t risk Dekkers during garbage time. TCU will come out on fire next week assuming they beat KU because they need to beat us for a bowl, and our o line is horrid.

that'd be cruel. I obviously have been critical of Purdy at times but - no. I think Dekkers has a very, very bright future., Time will tell.
But no way in heck do you do that to Purdy. If the game warrants it, then I guess that's one thing. But no way is that even a thought of a plan. Dekkers will get his time in all likelihood - you don't do that to a young man at this point who has everything he has for the university. Just no.

Brock took over early in the season, not on Senior day in his last home game. You run the risk of losing the locker-room b by doing something like that.
Had they gone with Dekkers after the Iowa game. That's different. To do it now? Heck, even doing it in the bowl game would be different. You let a great Cyclone have one last time out there at JTS.

Yes and no..... I'm probably 90% or more sure but to your point, there is still a quarterback battle ahead and anything can happen. but the fact that he;s the clear #2 and has been more or less for two years and has shown flashes as a back up and will likely be the only quarterback with any real game experience....
pre-spring ball and fall camp I will be very very surprised if Dekkers is not the guy.
Stop. Purdy is finishing the year. This season has been disappointing but Purdy is a baller.
This is dumb unless you are arguing that the best quarterback in Iowa state history deserves better than scrambling for his life and getting drilled repeatedly to end his career
