Worked fine for McKay. I hope we do it, cause we need a quality forward badly. He could make a huge difference come conference time.

Agree. Most of what I’ve read about Tre King is that he’s a good player!

He only attempted 56 three point shots at EKU, so he is not a volume 3 point shooter. They had 5 other players take more 3's in the 2020/21 season.

I would have no concerns with King coming to ISU. If he only has 1 year left and can play spring 2023, probably works best if he sits this spring. Makes for a great practice body this season and could step in as 4 or 5 on next year's team.
Yeah, I have no strong opinion on whether he's a match. Mostly, I was joking about our blistering 5% 3PT % from last night.

Yes please
King is a very good player and from what I've been told a great kid. I really hope we can land him
Yes please, may I have another! Please join us Trey. I'm sure the team and fans would love to have you!

I'd take him in a heartbeat if he is eligible all next year, or ideally, this spring.

But... keep in mind... we'd have a scholarship tied up. There were a couple of big guys we couldn't take this year through the transfer portal because we were full. Foster and Hinson didn't leave in time for us to take them.
If he can make the 2022/23 team better, I am OK with that using a scholarship. We have 10 guys on scholarship right now and 4 of those guys are seniors (Brock, Kal, Kunc and George). I also anticipate 1 or 2 transfers among the underclassmen. So it is very likely we will have at least 3 more scholarships to hand out this spring.

IMO at least 2 of those 3 scholarships need to be on big guys, so King sounds like a great fit for 2022/23. I doubt there are many 4 year bigs still available, so JUCO's and transfers are the best option. Getting a guy on campus this spring to practice, sounds like a win.
Just wondering, the HInson and Foster scholies are lost for this semester, and we don't get them back, correct? But they open up this spring semester again, yes?

To me, if King wants to come here, and TJ wants him, it's a no brainer. Take him, especially if he can play in Jan. We could use him.

If that winds up being the case, can he come in now as a practice player this semester, even though not enrolled in school here? That would be ideal.

If we land King and he gets the waiver I feel like the biggest benefactor of this could be Conditt. He has great energy in spurts but hasn't ever really been a consistent contributor over long stretches of playing time. Putting him in a spot to come in and bring some energy and rim running to give others a break may be the perfect role for him.

Which cartel's bag man are you meeting?

I am actually worried about customs thinking that,

Long story short - my stepdaughter went to Mexico city for a 4 week modeling gig. After 1 week she flew to NYC for the weekend to hang out with her bf. Her purse with her passport and ID were stolen while she was at the NYC airport. She hasn't been able to get an expediated passport to get back to Mexico. So I am flying down to get all her stuff from the AirBnB and check out of it.

It should be a fun little adventure.

That's a believable enough cover story.

Please note that I consider myself to be an expert on these things since I'm in the middle of the 3rd season of Narcos Mexico.

If he's not going to be eligible until spring of '23 I'd rather get players through the portal to fill the sholarships sooner.

If he's good to go this spring or next fall, he's 100% a take if we can get him.

Keep seeing post like this over and over, but no appeal can be filed until after he's on scholarship. We need a quality post, he's a take regardless.

I was thinking it sounded pretty positive for all three schools. lol.

It's like that with most recruits. My thinking is all things being equal, in the end where is there immediate SIGNIFICANT playing time if the waiver is approved.

Yeah, a recruit is going to be positive about the 3 schools he's going to commit to. One thing I noted was how positive he was on Coach TJ prior to his visit. We know TJ reputation as a relationship builder and he's already on first name basis with a recruit before making it to campus. I think that has me thinking ISU is the slight favorite entering the last visit.
