Screwed in Morgantown

I was at a wedding and missed most of the second half. Hall’s fumble that bad?

Ultimately the story is that the defense finally had a bad game. Don’t know if it was the matchup or a letdown, but they need to pull it together.

**** Texas

Hall was down before ball came out. Indisputable evidence from multiple angles. Zero doubt.

Gigantic replay review officiating error or mistake or game fixing or maybe an official with serious eyesight problems.

They could have given ISU the ball inches from the goal line and 2nd down but no way is it WVU ball.

I just watched the other post. They overturned the call on the field for that?

I did see the ending where it looked like Purdy had a first down and MC lost his ****

Yeah, the other plays, while bad, were not as clear as this one. His foot didn't get within 10 inches of touching down in the end zone.
How the replay officials let that catch stand is impossible to understand. The angle from the front of the end zone looking through the back was as plain as day. He jumped and his momentum carried him out of bounds with neither foot coming close to touching the ground.

here was how wvu tied it up -- they went for it on 4th and 3 but snapped the ball like 2 seconds after the playclock expired

they probably would have attempted a field goal if officials hadn't missed that call (4th and 8)

Did Campbell raise hell on that one? JFC

if he did they didn’t show it on tv.

ISU didn’t play great but there really were blown calls that gave WVU 14 points on 4th and 3rd down, another blown call that took 7 from ISU or they’d have had second down six inches from goal line.

It easily could have been an OT game with even a D+ job from officials.

yeah didn't show on tv iirc

the other one people take issue with was that this was ruled as a touchdown for wvu (~34 seconds into this video)

it didn't look like his foot actually touched the ground

Wow.

I didn't get to see the game, but those are all absolutely horrible.

Those are all very significant, game-changing errors.

Intentional errors, I might add.

the replay reviews are either intentional errors or they need eye tests.

not sure why play clock and horrific spot on purdy’s run weren’t reviewed.

it’s funny in basketball the shot clock is such an easily visible and reviewed thing, but apparently in football the play clock is just a suggestion that officials can ignore or enforce on their personal whim

The officiating sucked.

Our defense might have been worse. I'm not willing to give them a pass just because the officiating was bad. We made Doege look like an NFL guy yesterday and that dude SUCKS.

The Big 12 defensive POY wasn’t on the field. What were people expecting?

here's the video with one angle of the breece hall fumble -- the officials signaled it as a touchdown on the field but then changed the ruling on the field to fumble before the review

then after the review said the ruling on the field stands (despite it looking like potentially the knee + elbow went down and maybe the ball passed the goal line)

this was after a string of questionable/toss-up/missed calls that all went against iowa state (that resulted in touchdowns for wvu)

They didn’t even talk about it in the field. The white hat just ran away and turned his mic on and called it a fumble. It was weird. It happened so fast.

If we are honest, there was really bad call on WVU offensive PI that likely would've led to them scoring at least 3 but turned into 7 for us next play. That is a 10-14 point swing too.

Compare/constrast the Breece "fumble" with "Purdy short of 1st down" ... in latter case, if it was called short it was because ball hadn't advanced past line until after knee was down ... OK, so be it. But Breece's knee was down before ball came out, but that's somehow "different"?

What is this showing other than it definitely wasn't a TD?

That is was damn close. Ref was in position. standing right there. The foot may be a few inches above the ground, but cby no means the worst call ive ever seen. not even close.

refs were bad though. Worst crew ive ever seen, especially the line judge.
It was obvious they'd never worked together before.

ISU is a tough out for anyone. Wish the game had been called clean--it wasnt. But WVU arguably had a 14 point turnaround on the ridiculous OPI call.

Good luck the rest of the way. BEAT the Traitors.

I'll give you 10-14 on the PI call. This catch should have NEVER been a TD. you can see the bottom of his cleats and the into end zone look showed it pretty definitively for both feet. Terrible officiating all around, but we should never have made your QB look like an all conference performer. That is where the majority of the blame lies.
