Is this actually happening? Would like to see it announced from the athletic department if it is. I know TOE has pulled this off, and I saw a schedule they released for upcoming games, but has Iowa State ever pulled this off?

ISU fans are notorious for not participating in organized color schemes.

I mean for good reason. 90+% of cyclone gear sold is some kind of red, or a gray\black\white shirt. Most probably don't even own a gold\yellow. I know i'd have to buy one. Even those that do don't really wear them all that much.

Other schools have more balance.

The other thing working against this is the short lead time. I believe other schools that have done this planned it before the season and put something on the tickets telling people which color to wear for that seat.

They've tried "Cardinal Rules" games several times in FB and BB. Even printed it on posters and tickets. Still no luck, even with all of that cardinal apparel out in the world.

When was the last time they tried that?

I remember having a "cardinal rules" shirt about 15 years ago

Exactly. They quit trying because people wouldn't do it.

15 years ago the merch situation in iowa was a much different ballgame than it is today i feel like. You could probably pull off at least a red game more easily, provided it was published ahead of the season.
