It is going to be Kutcher.

For those that watch the show more regularly than me. Does it happen very often to have a celebrity fan of the road team be the guest picker?

No. I can’t think of an example right now of that happening ever. The guest picker is usually someone associated with the home team or some random celebrity that has no connection to either school.

David Montgomery is a lot more recognizable than Lazard right now. He’s a second round fantasy pick in most drafts so people all over the country pay attention to him.
Duh...forgot to mention Dmont...but you get what i mean for sure...and obviously logistics of timing (NFL players schedules, etc). I've never turned on a game day and they are like "our guest picker was a fan favorite six years ago in this town....and now is a reserve on this team.." :)

Really? Eric Church was the guest picker (still don't know who he is)
Oh so the answer to my question is there never has been one where a fan of the road team is the guest picker. There are plenty of examples of random celebrities, particularly musical artists.

Pollard said yesterday at a Lunch event my wife was at that he knew who the guest picker was and that he is not happy about it. So if its Kutcher, then him not being happy about it makes sense.
That is why I could never be the AD. If I was AD and was told it was Kutcher, I would have told ESPN to pack up their **** and get it off my lawn! If they didn't I would have had power shut down to that entire section of the parking lot.

There is too much smoke on Twitter right now not to be fire…..F that REALLY sucks….why would you put a die hard hawk fan as the guest picker??? I’d rather it was a country music singer I’ve never heard of before…..I guess we shouldn’t have complained about that last time. I mean jeez was Hayden Fry busy?? That would maybe be a worse choice than Ashton….Ashton, Tom Arnold and Hayden Fry would be the last three humans I’d want to have that job….
JorBo. One of the best 3 point shooters in the world. So dumb. He's not even one of the best 3 point shooters in his family.

One of yall needs to get famous, it's sad that we don't have an obvious answer to "who should be the guest picker?"

Unfortunately there just aren't any super famous Iowa State alums or fans for that matter.

I attended a luncheon with Jamie Pollard recently. He said he wasn't very happy with ESPN's choice of a guest picker.

At the end of the day it really isn’t a big deal. But having Kutcher be the guest picker is a little disrespectful. Guessing ISU will be the only team ever to have their celebrity guest picker pick against them not once but twice

Being that it is 9/11 tomorrow having some random military, police/fire/1st responder figure making the pick would have been more appropriate for the date that no one could fault them from going that route. As fun as it is to have the show here I am still a bit surprised they did not pick a service academy to go to this week even if the match up was nothing to get excited about.
