Big Brother 23

I wonder if once they get down to the final 6 they'll start making cuts depending on how black you are? For example, Hannah is partially Indian. I hate this whole race thing and if it was done by any other race, people would be pissing their pants.
Xavier, Derek X, and Azah seem to be some of the best players I've seen on Big Brother and I've watched all seasons. It seems to me that the Big Brother casting team built this cast to have a black winner, which is fine with me. I don't know that they expected there to be an all black alliance so openly racist but if you can get away with it, it's a winning move. After this year I assume it won't be ok to openly have an all black alliance?

Azah hasn't done a damn thing. Only thing she is good at is griping that other cookout members haven't throw her an hoh.

I hope I'm wrong but I could see because of this cookout alliance in future seasons this being a reason minorities are put on the block early in the season.

That annoys me. You are on a competition show. Nobody should throw you anything. THey are trying to put together a resume to win the thing. Not just give you a win. That is what I would tell her.

Still a week behind but here's Webster's Dictionary first definition of racism:

a belief that race is a fundamental determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race

I understand the black community is a historically marginalized community, especially in Big Brother. I look at some of the black competitors on this season and I think we may have 3-4 of the best black players of all time.

I would argue the race issues in Big Brother history are primarily based on CBS making horrific casting decisions. This year, they hit a damn homerun.

As I watch this show, I see The Cookout each has one side alliance who they're close with, but they're willing to throw their closest allies away for The Cookout. This just confuses the hell out of me.

For example, why do Tiffany and Asa skate by? They're worse than Britini at competitions, and Britini is terrible. I think we all know they're bound for a 5th and 6th place finish, anyway.

I absolutely understand, and WANT, a black individual to win, and it would be even cooler to finish second. But these two things almost make this season feel tainted

1) Derek X would be guaranteed a top 3 finish if he was black. Tell me I'm wrong.

2) Kyland, Xavier, and Hannah do not need The Cookout to have success and because of The Cookout, it will make their winning this season less remarkable.

1000000000% The only thing I do disagree with if Tiffany is running circles around the house (show not showing it well) and deserves to be in the final 3. However, even she is throwing away parts of her game for the cookout.

I also agree in the past there have been casting scenarios where it's one or two POC and you see these large white alliances (whether on accident or purpose) and they steamroll. I also agreed with the idea that these all white large alliances should be more inclusive. Then you see this large all black alliance and they are doing the same thing yet its okay on the show to make jokes about the white people getting voted out. That would never fly if it was the opposite. The show and the cookout are doing awesome things in making sure that a black person wins the game - fine by me. However, the narrative seems to ignore that people with Alyssa's background and Derek X's background are okay to be cast aside for the black cause. Just seems well hypocritical.

To your second point, the cookout is bad for everyone's game except Derek F (he's lazy and doesn't have to do anywork because frankly he is in the cookout) and Aza who is only benefiting by the cookout keeping her as a number. Everyone else would have been better off without it.

I’m finally caught up. How is it possible that The Cookout hasn’t been outed? Derek X almost had it nailed down, but couldn’t quite get there because of his relationship with TiffyToes. It’s a pretty impressive alliance without any real holes (although production tries to paint TiffyToes as a “weak link”).

He nailed it because one the interviews he did basically told him...the show was misleading there.

The cookout is dysfunctional but they're so committed to getting to 6 they turned out to be pretty solid because of loyalty.

That’s why I don’t know if I’ll watch the next new couple of weeks live. They are guaranteed top 6. It had to be Derek X to call
it out and he gone.

To be fair Derek X, SB, and Claire all made colossal mistakes. Derek X should have realized if America was giving him the highest amount, America likes to root for the underdog and was telling him he's not safe and to play the roulette. However he's a recruit so could be hard for him to realize that. SB had Xavier and Derek F in her sights and Kylan spent 5 hours one night completely making her HOH his. Claire had a chance to get anyone out she wanted but was too blindly loyal to Tiff who is playing her like a fiddle. So the Cookout has had some help.

I am not sure how I would stay friends with Tiffany if I was Claire. That would just seem odd to me. I always think I could take it as game play. However, I see these people sitting around talking family, their life and everything else. Then they get blindsided by the people they absolutely are the closest to in the house and have told them their life story. I know the "Its a game" thing. However, it would be hard to treat a person like Tiffany, WHo is playing a great game, like a friend after. It's not Tiffany's fault. That is how the game is. I am just saying if I was Claire I would be like "Yeah you can stick it up your butt".

Also, shouldn't Alyssa be considered a POC?

This is where I struggle. I am totally down for strong black players who can win this game. Hell I want ANY player whether man, woman, gay, straight, black, brown, green, purple, farmer, engineer, doctor....does not matter. I just want people who can PLAY THE GAME and do it well.

That all being said, if we honestly care about inclusion and unity, why can't the majority alliance include all types of races and backgrounds. Why is the black cause so important we don't care about Latinos or Asians. CBS is obsessed with virtue signaling for black players so they cast one Asian player. Derek X would make final 4-5 in most seasons even without being a superfan. He picked the game up well. Not perfect, but great social game, good at comps.

The cookout is best for X. He is head and shoulders better than everyone in it except kyland

X's game is lame. Throw throw throw. No way if I am in jury would he get a vote from me.

I like tiffanys move, but it is more than likely going to backfire on her.

See I like X's game. Throw comps until you need to win, no need to bring an unwanted target to yourself. Once you get to 6 left, then start winning. It's more impressive to me to show the discipline to not win everything even though you could and then start winning when you have to.

I think it was Saturday's show where two people were talking about how X was throwing every event. So everyone already knows he's doing it on purpose.

On a side note, Big D was caught off camera saying "At this point, the only thing I have a chance of winning is an eating competition". I thought this was pretty funny and true.

I like X in the DR. When he was like, “Why would Claire ask that?” Then he’s like:

“BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT IS HAPPENING”

he’s all about the game and I like that.

Its a tried and true method don't get me wrong. I just don't like how he turns around then humble brags how he threw comps. And I think he is good enough to turn it on and win majority of the comps from here on out (especially against the cookout members)

But i hate how he says "now im going savage mode"

Its like that kid that says "you only beat me because I wasn't trying"

I would agree with you normally. However, the producers are asking him questions Like "Did you throw that comp". He says Yes. Then the producers say "Ok tell us that you threw that comp and what happened". So basically he looks like he is bragging but he is really just doing what producers told him. Big Brother has the worst producers. They basically let people in on stuff they want them to be in on. Like DX basically being told to play the competition when he didn't want to, then ended up not playing and it cost him.

I wonder how all these games would go down if the producers just left everyone alone, didn't ask leading questions. That type of stuff.

Man, had gotten behind for a couple weeks with recorded episodes. Not exactly a strong case to go back and binge these according to discussion lol.

Are you a feed watcher? If not, then the show is failing you. Tiffany is by far and away the best player in the house and it's not even close. The only reason she's in the position she's in is because she decided to put the Cookout ahead of whats best for her game. She'll still probably pivot and figure it out.

If she played a self interested game the whole way she would be top 5-10 all time BB players.

X has spent the past 3 days on the feeds whining about throwing the comp and doing all this stuff for the Cookout and no one else is contributing. How dare people make moves that's best for them. Kyland wanted to hold on longer than Tiffany so he could look like the one giving Azah the HOH. Tiffany held on because she doesn't trust Kyland.

If I'm left in the game, I'm taking Big D with me to the end. Unless there is a comp for lying around, he's not going to win anything and he doesn't have any agency, comp wins, or game moves that he was responsible for.
