We were partying with Velo and didn't realize how long it would take to get in there through that gate bottleneck
We headed to the gate a half hour before kickoff, and after I made my traditional pit stop to get me through the first half, I got hung up in the stairwell for the national anthem. Lew went to get a program and missed me coming out of the bathroom. It also didn't help that I came up the first stairwell instead of the third, so I had to walk across the front of two whole sections! I'll try to do better next week, boss.

Wxman was the one with the issue, not me.

But seriously, I was dragging by the end of the 4th. Gotta get my tailgating stamina back. (And I was stone cold sober) And next week will really test the mettle with Cy-Hawk week.

I kind of wish ESPN wouldn't have game day in Ames this wkend. They actively have worked at destroying the B12, then throw us a bone of game day since we are rated well. I would have rather had them spotlighting the conference instead of a in state rivalry game. Oh well other than them taking up tailgating spots that they don't deserve it really won't change my day at all.

Wx saw someone crash landed a plane by Kingsley Iowa today, it was a float plane, the reason I know this it was in the corn field floats up. The news report said no one injured thankfully.

Yes they are open. They gave away free water bottles at the game so the lines were long prior to kickoff.

There's the Catholic church with a large 2 level parking lot that opens onto Ash Ave. I bet they could park close to 200 cars between both levels yet they keep it blocked off on gameday. Even if it was 150 cars that would be $3,000 each football weekend. Hard to believe they don't take advantage of that.

I know the answer here.

1). Probably have service on Saturday evening like most Catholic Churches I know

2). Then you need to get volunteers to staff it which is impossible now a days.
