What’s In the Bag? ***GOLF EQUIPMENT THREAD***

I give myself a certain amount a year. If I sell stuff off, that just adds to it and I try to cycle through the bag. Last year was wedges and a putter, this is Driver/3W, and next year I plan on irons but I've planned on irons for a couple years now as I don't think I need to be playing blades*. Problem is somehow I flush a 7 iron on the last round of the year and I keep that feeling in my loins for 6 months and have no desire to go a different route.
*That's right, blades. I'm really good.
Depending on your level and understanding of the swing, I wouldn't really recommend going down the youtube rabbit hole. IMO, having someone who can see what you're actually doing is very well worth it. They will get you set up right, make your grip workable, etc. Personally, I know a lot about the golf swing but if I don't have eyes on me, it's hard to figure some things out especially in alignment. There are a ton of online options out there where you send in a video and they'll send you a video back. A few years ago I was seriously ready to sell my stuff and just stay on my motorcycle because I was such an awful iron player. I was probably a scratch driver, 2 or 3 hcp putter and short game and was probably in the 15-20 range with iron and wedges and I was trending in the wrong direction. Cooler heads prevailed and I got online and found a guy who I thought I liked how he went about teaching. I did a 3 lesson package and he turned me right around in a month. I still had some issues that I knew were setup related and went to a local pro for a half hour lesson. Completely changed my life in regard to enjoying the game.
That’s a good option. I don’t want to bring back bad mems for you but what was your deal with the irons?
I always played with a very open clubface at the top and it kept getting more and more open so it caused every issue in the book from getting steep, to being narrow to flipping it at the bottom. Everything. Lots of shanks. The last really bad shot that I remember clearly was at a tournament. It was a 18 yard par 3 and I hit a 7 iron 50 yards left and out of bounds. That same 7 iron could go anywhere. Just no clue. I still am not a great iron player but my miss is a 20 yard left chloroform ball which is at least manageable.
The fix wasn't that hard once he gave me something to "feel". I need one thing to focus on and this guy gave me that reference point and then I could play somewhat. Then I just had to get my setup right with an din person pro and it got a little better yet.
Where did you get your fitting done at? I’m most likely going to buy new clubs this season and I want to get fitted before doing so.

That blacked out look is slick!!! I have a set of Cobra Forged Tec Blacks, could never get used to the single length though. Kept them around in case I wanna try again.
Alright since @Gunnerclone basically gave the push I need into upgrading from my 15 year old set, I am looking for some input from y’all. I’m a mid handicapper but I devote little time (I just don’t have tons of spare time, but I love to golf). I’m staying with my wedges for now, and I will die (I think) before I give up my Ping Anser 4 which I’ve had since the late 80s.

Just got refitted for a new set of Ping G425's 4-Pw then Ping Wedges 50, 54 & 58. Replaced my Ping G30's from 2015.
I like the all Ping’s except get the TSi driver. I can’t handle any ******** on top of my driver.
Yeah, back in the day, Ping woods (when they were still wood) were silly ugly. They were hard to take seriously.
I got a G400 for free last year and tried to play it. The “turbulators” or whatever Ping calls them are really just wind catchers on the back swing. I probably could have gotten used to it but there were other things I didn’t love about it either.
Anyone got any course time in with any 2021 drivers? Epic, Sim2, TSi, Ping 425, etc? Looking to upgrade because why not. Looking for thoughts.
I just bought the TSi2. I did swap the stock shaft, because it's way to light, out with a Tour Spec Black 6s Atmos shaft and its so far one of the best I've played. This coming from a guy that doesn't switch drivers much because I like a certain feel and sound. The TSi got me more forgiveness along with a better dispersion, so it was worth it to me.
I’m glad I still like my current driver and it still has the pop, because drivers today are crazy expensive.

The best for pure, data driven info is MyGolfSpy.com and their youtube channel. These guys use real data and massive data bases to evaluate golf gear.
So…I hit some Srixon’s (both 5’s and 7’s) next to my old Callaway’s today. Dear lord. I need the Srixon’s in the bag.
Broke my R1 driver (failed to strap the bag to the cart properly). Oops. Will probably get irons first, as I have a 3 wood and rescue three that get me where I need to be on most holes.
