Sounds logical. We shall see.My guess is that this is a canoe filled with ice, then cans/bottles of beer?
Heavy rain just started here in Ankeny.
Long story:
Last Christmas we tried to end the practice of everyone in Mrs. Velo's extended family exchanging gifts. We thought it was a bit much and we suggested that the kids just draw names and get a gift for another kid. They ended up drawing names for everyone so every adult and kid had a name and got a gift. My very Hawkeye SIL drew my name and bless her heart she bought me a black ball cap with Cy leaning on the gold 'I'. It just about killed her to buy Cyclone gear but she did it for me.
Last night I was wearing that cap to a tournament game that my daughter was guest playing at. A guy who I don't know from Adam but was apparently a parent of a player on the team that finished up playing right before us - same club - shouted out to me "I didn't know that they made combo hats." What? "I didn't know they were allowed to put that red bird on an Iowa hat." I tried to be nice and mention that my hawkeye sister in law had been nice enough to get it for me. He continued with his hawkeye blather. I pointed out that was the same 'I' that the varsity athletes at Iowa State get for lettering in a sport. I wanted to say, "Well I guess hawkeyes are claiming to have not only invented waving and the color black but now they are claiming to have invented the letter 'I'." But I didn't want to make a scene at a youth sports event and make an ass out of myself like this blowhard did.
Why do so many hawkeyes do this? Do they think it is funny?
Sometimes when we're working on a certain road, about 9am, it's like a train when all the UPS package cars go by. I'm actually surprised how many there are. My local customer center must have a large service area.A mentor/friend isn't teaching this fall due to some health things. She made sure to let me know that there's an open class. So, maybe an ISU semester, maybe an ISU year, or maybe everyone's done with me?
It's really an exciting way to live. In the meantime, I've added a return to loading delivery trucks at UPS to my wild agenda.
Loading the main car for ISU will try to kill me, but won't be successful.
It's all they have. Like Husker fans. Their entire identity is wrapped up in a little black and gold package.Long story:

I thought you had a class scheduled this fall for one of the smaller colleges?
My identity is wrapped up in a different package
Have the boundary waters ever burned in the past? Climates pretty temperate I feel like there.
Ya it has been a decade since I was last up there. I imagine a decent amount has changed.Been some far sized fires and LOTS of storm damage with blowdowns.
