JTS Improvements - Want More

I'm guessing that at the current pace, the outdoor portion of this project should be done in about a month. As far as inside the SPC, I have no idea how far along that is.
I'm holding out hope that we will eventually see the Trice Stripes sculpture at the top of the plaza, near the street. It would be cool to see those columns mad from large square granite columns, cut at angles to create the iconic logo. Then, up at the other end, by the jacobsen building, the large 12 foot bronze sculpture of Jack Trice.

Post #485 in this thread (page 25). I'd missed this planned detail. Really clever!

I’m kind of figuring the concrete work and sod in the plaza might be done this week. Next week at worst.

Who took the last drone picture of the stadium progress? Was it @CycloneFB ? Need another one this week with the sod being complete!

Anyone know why they are leaving this strip of unsodded gravel next to the walkway?

I’m going to guess they’re waiting for the next shipment of topsoil to arrive to cover that gravel—when they start prepping the southern and eastern parts of the plaza for sod.

After all, there’s gravel for drainage under the topsoil next to the retaining wall.

It’ll be interesting to see what media contracts look like in the next few years. If we suddenly make a lot more money then there’s more funding for all these extra projects people want but don’t want to pay for.
True. We also need more alum/fans to support the program. We have the lowest donations in the B12. We are larger than some other schools and produce more alumni, but trail behind not only the B12; but other conferences. We recent MBB success and current FB success, whether it’s the chicken or the egg doesn’t matter; we have our answer. Time for more alumni and/or fans to provide financial support. Iowa State is competing above its revenue. We are asking a lot of a finite season ticket holder base and even fewer Cyclone Club members. There is a breakpoint and we are at the point of needing to “sell“ more, not just charge more.

Keep CMC around and he should get more and more guys in the NFL. Obviously not all of them will donate, but the more you put in there the better the chances. Especially if they buy into the culture and love Iowa State.

Same for TJ if he can get Iowa State back to success and can get some guys in the league. Find those Niang and Morris type guys who help for 4 years and go Pro.
