On That Note - In My Room

Seems like B-Boys might have several other floor/door/wall references, seems like something they used a lot. But no others are coming to mind at the moment.

It's one of those themes that listener will encounter down the road when listening to a familiar song they had forgotten contains it.
There's no doubt. The shear volume of lyrics they produced guarantee many more pertinent references.

I think Hope Sandavol has a super sexy vocal style.

Before I close the door
I need to hear you say goodbye

I agree, Sandavol has a cool vocal vibe. From the two songs I've just listened to from this band (this one and 'Fade Into You'), my initial feeling is that Hope maybe was held back the by the other instrumentalists? The rhythm guitar for example is very basic, repetitive and boring. The lead guitar is basic also.

Still trying to get all my Room songs in here on a technicality

"Get ya hands to the ceiling
Let it go y'all, don't fight the feeling
Mic in a strangle hold, sweat pourin'
And like Jordan, yo I'm scoring"

DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince - Boom! Shake the Room

"You wanna come an' I'll meet you at the door"

"See dark shadows, On the walls"

Been awhile since I listened to AC/DC. The first two songs here sound about the same to me LOL! And the fly was very annoying in song one!

Wondering if the lead singer dude has any vocal chords at all now-a-days!

I think only one occurrence of each, but gets 4 of the 5 theme words.

“Look up on the wall / there on the floor / under the pillow / behind the door.”
“Somewhere there's a hole in a window pane.”

Great song. New winner? 4 of 5 is pretty good!

That's when i saw her, ooh I saw her
She walked in through the out door, out door...

Excepting this performance and some others, Letterman usually had some gawd-awful musical guests, iirc! IMO of course.

I open my front door, hear my back door slam
You know, you must have one of them new fangled
New fangled back door man!

Serious question here, name me one contemporary band, last 10-20 years?, that has a decent lead guitarist. I know Zepplin's Jimmy Page was just 'a bit above average' but are there any good lead players today?

I can think of say a guy like Joe Bonamassa who's great, so great he's not even in a band (solo). Any one else come to mind, either solo guitarist or band with decent lead guitarist?

Thought of this and just posting another live version...both are mesmerizing.

It's funny that you post this...

I've always considered Remain In Light their apex album while never listening to anything after 1980 all that much. I recently watched a youtuber review their catalogue and he put Speaking In Tongues ('82) ahead of Fear Of Music. At first I was dismissive of it (like a true music snob) but then I went back and listened to Speaking In Tongues again and it is SOOOO good. It also made me appreciate the Stop Making Sense version you posted a lot more.

Since I don't play by the rules and every room needs a roof, I offer this selection:

Some of these songs take me back. I'm not THAT old that I was alive when they were most popular, but these were always my dad's go to songs. Listening to KGGO with him are some of my earliest memories of my dad. He woke up with his clock radio on KGGO back when it was exclusively 50s and 60s music. I'd just lay on his bed while he got ready to go out to Camp Dodge for work.
