WVU transfer Tykee Smith

Sure. But it wouldn’t matter unless OU was playing that team.

That’s the reason schools also used to block future nonconference opponents.
I meant he could feed scouting info to whom ever he wants no matter where he ends up. If he’s pissed at Oklahoma he can still help out TCU from Missouri or wherever.

I’m with Coach Riley on this.

Why Lincoln Riley is right

Don't disagree with this, but I also feel that way for all transfers. They should sit out a year without losing a year of eligibility. There needs to be some protection for schools to not have developed players and then have them bolt to a big name school to get exposure.

I also think that any coach that leaves before their contract is up should have to sit out a year. Non-compete clauses are commonplace in other industries, why is coaching different?

It honestly would be up there. No one would talk about it as being one of the best, as that title will usually always go to Ohio State, LSU, or Bama secondaries.

If Smith comes:
CB: Johnson Jr. (2x HM All Big 12)
CB: Amos (the best FCS dback last year)
SS:Eisworth (3x 1st team All Big 12)
FS: Smith (3rd team All American, HM All Big 12
Star: Young (Big 12 FOY, HM All Big 12, FR All American)

That secondary is insane.

Id put that secondary up against any other in the country. We may not have the headliner or first round draft choice that you need to garner that kind of label nationally however.

this article does a terrific job of ignoring what is best for the unpaid student athlete or considers his point of view at all.

LOL no it didn't. The main takeaway from the article was literally "transferring within the league is just different". I don't care which way you try to slice it, this is a chicken $hit move by Riley.
