Jayden Nunn Decommits

How is he supposed to handle it then? Look at it from TJ's side. He knows Hunter is the class of what is coming in. He has a bunch of guys that may or may not want to stay and play, and he probably has some guys in mind in the transfer market and maybe a guy or two he recruited to UNLV. Nunn had 3 other offers, all from mid-majors. TJ has the right to figure out what he has, what he wants to keep and who he doesn't. It would be wrong to contact the kid and tell him, yes we want you, and than a week later change your mind. It is going to take a while to figure out where he wants to go. Nunn could have waited a week, but I get the feeling he decided a while ago and is just using the fact that TJ didn't contact him right away as an excuse to go elsewhere.

By contacting him.
It won't matter much in the long run, but it's not a classy or respectful way to treat people.

A text or call introducing yourself and just saying you are uncertain of things but you or a staff member will be reaching out more extensively later. 1-2 minutes of your time.
So the recruit can sit around for 2 weeks wondering if the school who they committed to still wants them? Yeah, that sounds like much better plan.

He probably should have contacted him or have staff contact him, but overall he’s probably busy as hell right now.

Yes, it's much better to do that than ignore his existence entirely.

I run into this all the time with my business as veterinarian. We have tough discussions with people that are obviously protected by HIPPA and then see idiots go on social trashing fellow vets for “doing nothing” and bad of people we are. I so badly want to call them out for the fact that their pet being sick isn’t my fault nor is it my fault you can’t afford a pet little alone the other five dogs in your possession. Oh, and don’t tell me you can’t afford even a minimal intervention while you reek of cigarettes.

Sorry for the rant.

(There’s a reasons veterinarians have a 2.5x suicide rant compared to the general population.)
HIPAA doesn’t cover pets.

No one is saying Nunn should be the first contact. But at least tell the player committed publicly to your program that you'll be reaching out soon.

Piling on, nobody is saying to promise Nunn a starting role, a scholarship, or even an in-person meeting. Just don't ignore someone when reaching out is so easy.
It's just the most basic "treat people well" kind of stuff.

Guys. This is so incredibly minor. Relax lol

It takes probably a total of 5 minutes to get his number and to text him! I totally understand if TJ thinks he can bring in better talent and hope that's the case. But if Nunn truly heard nothing I can't say I like that way of doing things.

Did iowa state not reach out? TJ didn’t (per the kids tweet) - but an assistant may have - the “haven’t been contacted by the new head coach” line in his tweet is key.

You are taking Nunn's word and running with it while having absolutely no idea what the full picture is. Calm down hoss.

There is no comeback. TJ ****** up by waiting almost a full week without reaching out to one of about a dozen people.
Really? TJ is announced on March 18th, Has a press conference on the 19th and Nunn tweets he has not heard anything so he is decommitting this morning March 21st. 21-18=3 Last I checked a week is 7 days. The hyperbole on here sometimes is unreal.

I know what you're trying to say, but let's not include Eastern Michigan. They actually made the NCAA tournament this year, which is more than can be said for us.

They haven’t made the tournament since 1998....

Edit: Saw you already realized this
