Lol like I haven’t already been through that game like 5 times.
Has it ever been about Born? Getting pretty personal.

Guess I need to go back to the big 12 "who they losing, who's returning" thread. Who is getting worse? Who is an 0-19 team passing? TCU? KSU? Maybe?
This is not a 1-year rebuild.
He would have been a good walk on.
I do think ISU could have an NCAA Tournament team next season if all the pieces come together. As much as players, that will come down to if TJ is able to create a new ISU basketball culture based on toughness and effort. If we can defend, rebound and get to the line- we could make huge strides.
The perfect scenario is heavily contingent on ISU having a quality PG. Hunter looks the parts based on his HS highlights, but the Big 12 is a different level. I like the following lineup:
Hunter
Bolton
Hinson
Foster or Tfr/Recruit
Conditt or Foster
Then off the bench Walker at PG, Harris/Jackson at WG, Johnson at SF, Dubar at PF
The tough thing is Harris & Jackson are very similar players. Shorter guards, who don't seem to have the best handle, mainly spot up jump shooters with questionable shot selection at times. IMO there is just room for 1 on our roster.
I struggle to see where Dubar and Blackwell fit. I realize they were only freshman and maybe Covid stunted their development- but for 6'6" players, I just didn't see shooters. I liked Dubar's rebounding.
In my mind, I see Dubar as ISU's Mart Vital.

JFC dudes. Take a breath.
You don't think Iowa State could compete for 6th or 7th in conference if TJ could land a Shayok esque type legit transfer or hell even convince Arthur Kaluma (long shot I know) to follow him to Iowa State?
No, no I don’t think that.
Xavier Foster and George Conditt both need to take huge steps forward for this to happen. With that being said, I think they are capable. Why? Hunter and Foster are legit 4 star talents. Bolton is one of the better guards in the league. Hinson is a proven double digit scorer at the P5 level. Javan Johnson is an athletic forward. Conditt should have his best year ahead of him. Add a big time transfer. That rotation of 7-8 guys can compete for the 7th spot in the Big 12 and fight for the bubble next year.
People forget that you only need to go 9-9 and maybe even 8-10 some years in the Big 12 to get a tourney bid. Why? Hunter and Foster are legit 4 star talents. Is Hinson coming back for sure?I think getting Hinson back will be huge for our forward rotation as will getting Foster back.
No, it’s that he’s short and slow. That is not something that can be part of a plus player in the Big 12.
Unless new coaches make a difference, I just don't see how Conditt is a big12 player. No offense to him, but wouldn't it be in his best interest to transfer to a mid-major, somewhere that he could contribute more. I would think and hope he would be happier.
I hope Tre comes back. I’m not 100% sure but I’ve always been a fan of his. He reminds me a bit of Barry Brown from kstate. Undersized and known for defense, though Brown was better at offense.
Are we talking about Tre Jackson?
You guys are so right on bowen born. Clearly the players we used his potential scholarship on who couldn't see the floor on a team that went 0-18 in the big 12 were much better. Smh
Difference is Tre can defend. Are we talking about Tre Jackson?
