So I'm not about to say JP is "arrogant" with his hires. I mean that doesn't even make sense

Relatively speaking he makes Texas' AD look very bad if we go by success vs. expectations.

Most of those hires were looked at as the best hire of the year in their sport. Hindsight is easy to say Chizik was a bad fit, but the whole football world thought it was a coup that we got him at that time. So a few hires haven't worked out. That happens.

He's not arrogant in my view. It's a tough job and I wouldn't want it. Let's hope TJ is a success here.
Some coaching hires work out great, others don't. Sounds like a typical athletic department. Am I missing something? I don't see what arrogance, or a lack thereof has to do with anything.

I think you could paint Pollard as arrogant at times, but the OP totally failed on making that connection in the post. The only arrogant move Pollard has made in hiring coaches is Hoiberg. I mean, that took some serious onions and he looked like a genius coming out if it. The rest of his coaching hires have been pretty much by the book. Granted, he has often made a lot of reporters look really stupid because he is good at keeping everything under wraps, but that's not arrogant. That's just him doing his job.
