From what I remember, Hoiberg was the “first” coach to have that much success having four transfers sit out his first year. After doing that to jumpstart the program, he brought in one or two a year which is fairly normal. But that’s why everyone claims he started the transfer market, because an announcer said he was the first coach to do it what that much success in year one.
And there was definitely buzz about the talent level of the sit out guys...."they beat the starters in practice, etc"

Not many coaches choose Year 2 over Year 1. That led to a lot of buildup

Another guy ISU recruited out of HS

Yeah there have been a handfull... In theory if Prohm stays ISU would have a good shot at a number of prior targets.
Side note I havent seen ISU being named as a contact for any transfer to this point. Could be a to the staff not being sure about their own future?

Never understood why people post players transferring in this thread until it's known we're showing interest in them. Such a waste of time.
A lot of people like to follow college basketball and who is leaving and going to other places, regardless of ISU interest. I’m one of those people so I appreciate when people post players in here and I suspect others are in the same boat so I post them too.

Because this is a general basketball thread and we can discuss if we would want a transfer or not. This year with the coaching question mark we won’t know if this thread has any value until a decision is made with Prohm and we find out if the new coach retains our recruits

If people really want to see everyone that is transferring, just follow this link.

No need to post a bunch of irrelevant transfers on an Iowa State board. There are gonna be over 1000 transfers this year. Iowa State will be involved with maybe 25-50 of those max. Post about those 25-50. Not the other 950.

Anybody else want to post every single one even more now?

Or just ignore them if you don’t like it. People have agreed with me that they like to follow who is going where. This is a big message board, people are going to post stuff you personally don’t care about. Doesn’t mean they shouldn’t post it, you’re not the only person here.
