Anyone else hearing that JP has already decided Prohm is coming back?

It was probably for the better the Applebees Coaches Show shifted from callers to more interview format....but can you imagine the entertainment value that would have had this year if it allowed callers?
"Hey John, Coach Prohm....wasnt able to watch cause couldn't find ESPN+ on my channel changer, but heard you were nice enough to let the other teams manager get some playing time....thats why I like you, you are nice....also, what can you tell me about Fred Hoiberg as a replacement option if you leave?"

It'd be so painfully entertaining, lol

Can you imagine the open q&a session at the summer tailgate tour if Prohm is back?

Walter may have to put a caveat of no bball questions

Agree. If we have donors willing to throw that kind of money around I'd rather see it go to Hilton renovations.

Agree. By paying an astronomical buyout for Prohm and to Nebraska sends the message you have money available to throw around mindlessly. The Donor is paying so it really is not our money is a ridiculous argument. Donors fund our improvements and are instrumental in times like these when you are faced with paying up for successful Coaches like Campbell and his Assistants. While at the same time funding unsuccessful coaches termination and replacement. The image of recklessly throwing around money is not something JP will embrace.

Whoisthis took a little bit too much meth tonight. Is this guy new? First time I’ve seen him. For a guy that accuses others of having a Fred problem, Fred seems to be all he talks about. Classic case of projection.

When you “dumb” every other post, I suspect I’m with others in that I don’t even read his posts.

Just read your post to yourself again. Especially the bolded.

They do. it Is not Monopoly Money. And it is not an unlimited pot of money. Responsible use of Donor Money leads to more Donors, Reckless spending makes Donors reconsider. Sincerely doubt JP is focusing on bringing back Fred.

This isn't about Prohm. It's about how there's a segment of the fan base that still hasn't let Fred go and will likely hold it against whoever the new coach is that they aren't Fred.

it is about having a terrible coach now...and people wanting a good one...people will love the next guy if he wins, and won’t like him if he loses...that’s it...people liked Larry, Johnny, and Floyd...they do not like Greg, Wayne and Prohm

that’s all this is

I like Wayne. He took us to some tournies and had fun teams to watch.

I'm already confused on how people don't understand some of the top donor mindsets. It is their money and they get to decide how it is going to be used....this isn't charity to them they are paying for who they like and want here. It takes one call and as simple as saying I'll give you guys $x to help get so and so here if not them I'm out and so is my money.

Absolutley. The question is if the donors want CFH specifically and willing to pay what it takes for Fred and possibly only Fred or if they are giving an amout for any coach/general fund leaving the decision up to Pollard. Jamie will make the final deciision but those helping pay will limit his options to some extent.

If Fred does indeed want to come back, and there's a way to make the financials work, I'm not sure we're in a position to say no.

I just don't want Fred to be the entire search.

Depends on how bad you want to win. Winning= $$$$$.

I never get the “we have to go through a search” fanbois.

Skeptical of Gunner’s claims. Not that it is impossible. But it is highly improbable IMO. More of a Gunner pipe dream.

I'd love it if that's the case. I also don't think it's true that there's no extra narrative beyond "good coach" with Fred and Iowa State given his playing career and being from Ames. If I'm wrong and there isn't constant comparison between Nebraska and Iowa State if the next coach isn't Fred I'll be happy to eat crow.
