Anyone else hearing that JP has already decided Prohm is coming back?

Beilein was making about 2.5 at Michigan. Michigan, relative to revenue, is cheaper than ISU. If Beilein isn't interested in ISU, I don't know that it's about money. He really seems like a guy who would find the ISU job attractive but for some reason I just don't feel like he'll be interested and I can't put my finger on why.
Word is if he coaches again, he wants to be out east.

JP doesn’t work that way. He’s always going to be trying to find the Matt Campbell type. Fred would be an outlier because that is instant revenue and he (JP) just has to live with the past and future uncertainties.
Totally agree, and will add that JP is implementing the Wisconsin model, with the additional, historical constraints (mostly budget) specific to ISU. And the Wisconsin model doesn't include splash hires.

Interesting link. A number of posters there seem to have a decent to high opinion of him.

fairly active board, too.

be interesting to see if there are any legs to this rumor in the coming weeks.

What is everyone's thoughts on Frank Martin if he were to become available?
Pass. Has made 1 NCAA Tourney in 9 years (huge outlier being in the final 4), and his team is currently in 12 of 14 in the SEC.

Possibly been mentioned before, but just did a scan of JP's twitter, and he's not mentioned ISU basketball once this season (from what I saw). He did retweet a few from ISUMBB honoring THT and Tyrese NBA accomplishments.

Not sure what I expected, but was surprised there has been nothing.
He’s a front runner. Only promotes things that make the program and him look good.

He usually posts about positive things that happen with our programs. Not much positive from men’s hoops this year

Not sure what he’s supposed to say beyond that

Not much really - we are the second to the top in 'jobs being watched', but the comments are pretty vanilla and same that have been discussed here (horrible conf record, generally good job with passionate fan base). Headwind of a $5 Million buyout referenced as a hurdle.
I actually thought it was interesting that Craig Smith was listed as one of the two possible candidates.

Don't know if anyone caught Prohm's postgame quotes, but how many times since he's been here has he blabbered on about the expectations here and how he's not meeting them? I'd honestly say it's 3-4 times that's happened.

Either way.. Any new information regarding all of this? Saw New Mexico could be interested which would be awesome. New whispers from Lincoln?

The NM thing is intriguing. I could envision a scenario where NM wants to make a play and we agree to cancel any buyouts for Steve to pursue the deal. Win/Win/Win potentially as NM gets a new coach without footing a buyout, Steve gets a needed fresh start, and ISU gets to move on without the hurdle of a buyout.
