Do you have reading comprehension issues?
He KNEW they were violations at the time and did so anyway. Committing known violations jeopardizes the programs, school, and the kids involved with it. It compromises the hard work of many for the personal gain and glory for the few. But let's just say the first round of phone calls were no big deal for argument's sake.
Okay, now that we have that understanding Sampson went to a new school, KNOWING he was under watchful eye and going to be scrutinized. Any cogent individual would recognize this and be on the straight and narrow. But now Sampson. He goes to Indiana and gets caught doing THE SAME thing he did at OU in his FIRST YEAR. I mean, how ******* stupid can he be? And how stupid could some here be for even wanting the guy.
Whatever. Let's bring him here then ***** about it in 3 years when he get caught doing something else that's braindead and completely stupid.
It's been 13 years now since he was at Indiana. He's also been at Houston now for 7 years and no violations that we know of. I think he at least deserves a call, his program is a Top 10 program the last 3 years. Sampsons Defensive Efficiency ratings have bee in the Top 15 in college basketball 4 straight years also, something that has been severely lacking at Iowa State.
My first two calls would go to Beilein and Sampson to try to make a splash hire. Either one of those two would have ISU right back in the tourney within 2 years. If all the players stayed you could also run into a George Raveling scenario where the talent is already there but you add a top coach and they are exponentially better next year.
After that I would go Craig Smith and Devries, Smith would be a great hire but would take him 2 or 3 years to get it turned around. Devries, TJ, etc could be really good or total bombs like Prohm also.
