I got **** on for saying this was a single-digit win team in a normal season.
Now we're looking at MAYBE a 3 win team with a Covid-shortened season.
I like coach Prohm, and said at the start of the season that we need to give him the season before deciding about making a change. This is his 6th season at ISU, the first two we finished tied for 5th and then tied for second. Both of those rosters were loaded with talent left over by Fred. The past four years we have finished 10th, 5th, 9th, and we will be 10th again this year.
6 years is long enough time to see that he is not improving, the team is not improving and for the first time ever, I have tuned out and starting shutting the games off. I went from all in, to truthfully, I have no clue who they play next or were at. Its just horrible basketball to watch, little to no flow, continue to not solved the 5 spot problem, and we continue to stand and host up 3's, many as the clock is winding down. Defense is not even an after thought, we play NONE.
Its time for a change.

I’m concerned about after next season. A lot of guys will be done. That is when Campbell could be lured away. With a 30 MM AD hole, I will take poor basketball to guarantee great football.
Steve Prohm has turned my favorite team/sport to watch into something I barely follow anymore. He is an awful coach and needs to go.
Like many, I was disappointed his first year with what he could do with a team that was ready-made.
In the years following, I was impressed by the ability to recruit guard talent. Not very impressed by talent at any other position though (a lot of guards who were mismatches playing forward position).
The team from two seasons past (THT's one year) had the opportunity to blow the doors off. But strife within the team brought it down. This brings me to the next point: Prohm does not seem to be able to bring in players that can like one another. One wonders what would have happened if Royce White was on a Prohm team?
You’re GD rightCoach Hines would make us a tourney team next year
Preach! I have had the exact same comments before.I like coach Prohm, and said at the start of the season that we need to give him the season before deciding about making a change. This is the challenge! Getting a coach good enough to make a difference requires cash or a find like Campbell.Beilein or Matta, anybody else and we still have the 9th or 10th best coach in the Big 12.
It appears you're assuming 100% of possible infections infecting all inside the stadium. Let's update this to include the probability of those within proximity are infected which is VERY low. Then, you can start to apply the vaccination figures against that probability. Bottom line, MUCH lower than 3,000.ISU can do very little to prevent Campbell from being lured away. If he is looking for a new challenge, no amount of money paid by ISU is going to keep Campbell at ISU. An NFL team or elite college program can blow away any amount ISU would be able to pay.
Not convinced this is an either/or situation. ISU needs to maximize revenue from football and hoops. We have a basketball team (based on play so far) that an OPTIMIST would say we will win 2-3 Big 12 games this season. Hilton will be half empty next season, if fans aren't given a reason to buy tickets.
There are Cyclone Club members who make that investment because of ISU's basketball program vs. football program. Allowing ISU to have a horrible basketball program has significant financial consequences.
Also, COVID will continue to have an impact on athletic ticket sales. Even with a vaccine, I don't think it is guaranteed fan attendance will be back to normal for the 2021 season. Not only could ticket sales continue to suffer, but do Athletic Departments see slippage in donor group (aka Cyclone Club) income?
Will the vaccination be available to all Americans by September? Think about it, the vaccine is only 95% effective at best. In a stadium filled with 60k people, even at 100% vaccination levels- that would mean a vaccine will not work on 3,000 of those fans. What's the dynamic if only 60% of people get the vaccine? Will fans be required to show evidence of vaccination to attend athletic events?
Honest question, if fans could be in attendance how many do you think would show up at the next non-Kansas game?
I don't think the place would even be half full for, say, a Tuesday night TCU game.
No way he is being fired after this year even though he probably should. He will have one more year. But I can see several players leaving after this year and next year being more of the same.
I just can't see Pollard doing that. I think other ADs would but he is pretty loyal and will be given a pass for this year. But if he chooses to leave, I wouldn't complain.I would bet he is canned or mutually agree to part ways.
