***Official College Football Playoff Rankings***

12 more playoff games would bring in an extra $1billion per year at least. Split between 10 conferences. I am assuming there would be a payout divide based on how far you get. So you're talking an extra $10-20million per school in the P5 and probably an extra 2-3million per school for the smaller conferences.
First I don’t know what the real number is that it would bring in. Nobody is arguing that more playoff games equals more money. That’s been proven by real studies as nauseum. In your scenario you want equality for all then that means the revenue. You are going to have to evenly split that profit across all conferences. Right now in the CFP you don’t get any extra money for winning the semifinals it’s just $6 Million for making it. No way in hell you are going to convince these power 5 conference to agree to equal revenue sharing from this new pot for the G5 teams while adding another game where they could potentially lose or have injuries.

College sports are still fan centric and losing a home game each year to trim the season is a big deal considering we only get a handful as is.

University of Maryland Baltimore County and Virginia was a waste of time too right?

I thought we were talking about football. You're comparing apples to Cadillacs.

Come up with a valid reason besides "seems like too many" then. @Busch__Latte 's is the only semi-valid one that is easily fixed with a player allowing them to get money off their likeness. But in my system we're still only putting 2 teams at 15 games. In fact most of the country would play one or two less games than they do now. 10 + a bowl.

You just identified the reason most won't go for your scenario. No big schools want to give up home games.

Wait UMBC won the national championship!?!? News to me. Basketball and football are completely different things you can’t equate the two. UMBC still finished in a tie for 17th at best if you just go by where they ended in the tournament (Rd of 32)

We will never have a logical playoff, regardless of number of teams, with the bias associated to team selection.

The selection committee exists so that TV networks get the matchups they want. I'd like to see to it that there is no selection committee at all. But that's always going to be where the unlimited force meets the immovable object in college football. TV networks are the real customer of NCAA bowl division football.
