***Official College Football Playoff Rankings***

If we win against OU, put us in the playoff. CMC, Purdy, Hall, Jack Trice story, a team that has not won a conference title in 108 years, etc. would make for the best cinderella story and make our game must-see-tv. Once we're there, everyone loves a feel good story and many would root for little old Iowa State to take down some giants. It pretty much writes itself.

Oh come on. If we were 10-0 and Ohio state was 5-0, we’d be 4th. I think we’d be 4th at 9–1. I don’t give a **** about the G5 but the committee has treated us fairly. Not favorably but fairly.

Really, I remember a time not that long ago when an OSU team, lost their first game of the season to a 5-6 VT team, while Baylor and TCU both went 10-1, TCU's lost was a 3 point loss to Baylor, ranked 3rd in the poll the week before the final ranking, destroyed ISU by 50 in a game they could have put up 70 on us, and still they dropped behind OSU in the final rankings.
The committee does what it wants to do, you have a better chance believing in Easter bunny and Santa Claus then you do in this committee and its current 4 game playoff to allow anyone in that is not a blueblood.

Wouldn’t it be nuts if we got our first 10 win season in program history playing a shortened season where we weren’t able to pad wins with cupcakes?

That would be the one reason why I would rather play in the Cotton Bowl over the CFP. I’m almost certain we have no shot at beating Alabama. However, I’m confident Campbell can put together a game plan that gives us a chance to beat Florida.

That being said, I’d trade the 10-win season to be blown out by Alabama.

I don’t get why people are so afraid of Alabama. They are really good but I don’t think they are unstoppable.
There's not a cornerback in the country that can cover Devonta Smith. He is a legit top 5 draft pick. Everyone kept talking about Jerry Jeudy being the best route runner last year, but Smith is better. The entire team is full of talent, as usual. I don't see anyone knocking them off this year.

I know no one will like this, but a 6-0 League Champ Ohio State will be in playoff. The Big Ten will not make Ohio State play a sixth game to get into the championship game. They will waive the rule. If Ohio State wins, it is a done deal. They look the part, have not lost, Big 10 Champ, and a blue blood. That being said, a New Year game would be amazing.
I don’t think it matters if they play the championship game. They will still get the plus one game vs the winner of Wisconsin and Iowa. The winner of that game isn’t going to be ranked too far below Northwestern. Then they would be 6-0 with two pretty good wins. They will get in if that plays out. That’s the whole reason they have to rank Teams like Iowa so high. Iowa is 5-2 and have played one team that isn’t below .500.

SIAP Interesting. Listen to the d'bags in the background Ha Ha.

I remember that. I also remember avoiding sports after the Louisiana game but assuming he took massive crap. What a crazy season.

I mean they are absolutely really good. No one is saying different. What I don’t get is people act like they are more dominant than UCONN women’s basketball during their runs.

Everyone likes to pretend they play this super tough schedule when they really don’t. They haven’t really played a really competitive team since October. Their three best opponents are Auburn, TAMU, and Georgia. Auburn and Georgia are living off of their name. TAMU I think remains in that kind of good but not great level.

So are they really good absolutely. Are they some unstoppable force no. Do they scare me as something to avoid no.

I think we should bomb Chris Fowler and Desmond Howard's mentions with that video. **ckboys laughed at us being a dark horse CFP contender to start the year and now look at the rankings.

Absolutely love it

This all won't matter if the Big 10 changes the rules. But man am I having fun right now thinking about ISU football!

It all matters. This season had been a huge success.

I agree that they will be in.
As far as looking the part, if Wisconsin and Indiana only played one game, they'd be in too.

TCU winning against LA Tech this week could put them at the tail end of the top 25, so that would be another win over a CFP top 25. I'm cheering for all the Big 12 favorites this weekend to keep everyone in the ranking and possibly bring in another.

Frankly I don’t understand why TCU isn’t in already ahead of Missouri.

Look at who Mizzou plays this weekend. It's not hard to figure out why they were placed in the top 25 based on that alone. The committee knows how to make the results fit their narrative.
