***Official College Football Playoff Rankings***

In all fairness to BYU they had a tough schedule planned ore covid and they stepped up and went to Coastal to play a top 20 ranked team. I respect that

I'm not sure they really wanted to play Washington all that bad.

Yet the rest of their schedule averages a 3-6 record. They've only beaten one team that wasn't below .500. We should jump them this week, but its probably 50/50. Its mostly irrelevant anyway. If ISU wins on the 19th, they'll pass GA easily and probably Florida too.
If we beat OU we will easily pass Georgia. Passing Florida will all depend on how they lose to Bama, if they do indeed lose. Keep it close like Indiana did with Ohio State and it will be tricky to pass them if I had to guess.

You do know the reason behind that whole not wanting to play Washington stuff right? The media and people ran with it as them being scared. That was not the case at all. The Pac-12 set up with canceled games basically made that game like a 1% chance it would happen because if a Pac-12 team became available to play Washington that game would take precedence even if BYU and Washington had agreed to play. And that's exactly what happened, and BYU's coach even said they didn't want to prepare for a game that wasn't going to be played. I would argue they took the far tougher shot of agreeing to fly 2200 miles to play at Coastal on short notice, so they weren't afraid of playing anyone.

I'm aware of how things played out. I still don't think they wanted to play Washington or another P5 that badly.

Of course the committee is shitting their pants that this occurs. IF Florida beats Alabama in SEC CCG and Clemson beats ND in ACC CCG, you would think both of those teams are in. Then you have ND, Alabama and Ohio State fighting for two spots. You look at resumes, ND beat Clemson when they were #1, Alabama has beat #3 Georgia and a couple of other ranked teams and Ohio State's best win would be #9 and over-rated Indiana and a high teens rated Northwestern in B1G CCG. Ohio State could be unbeaten and still get left out. Herby loses his mind.

There's a reason a mediocre Indiana team is being pumped up. They beat Penn State and Michigan before we realized just how bad they are. But they need them to be good so Ohio State's only decent win looks good.

If Iowa beats Wisconsin this weekend, they most likely face Indiana the next. You know the head office will say, whatever happens Indiana needs to win. Will be funny watching Hawkeye fans try to understand it.

They aren't shitting their pants. They will do what they want with no repercussions.

They do something similar every year. Not necessarilty for OSU.

The college football world would celebrate this kind of scenario. Something like this might be necessary to try and move toward an 8 team playoff

There are some po’d people in the responses to that tweet. And rightfully so the way it sounds.
Why? What’s the context there? I genuinely don’t know. And I guess to lazy to dig into it. Lol

Perhaps the most unfortunate impact that COVID has had on football scheduling is the seeds of doubt that get sewn into these situations. All the "convenient" cancellations that are probably legitimate but stir opposing fans into a frenzy are a real bummer. Feel bad for Tulsa missing out yet again on a chance to play Cincy at home. Now they have to travel to Cincy for the Conference championship game? Hardly seems fair and the timing gets the conspiracy theories rolling.

Cant wait until Michigan pulls out on OSU at the last minute and watch it all burn.
