Grill looked like a stud last night. He looked the part last year but struggled to get his shots to fall. I think he could have been a fan favorite here given more time.
Don't be naive. He was a fan favorite before he took one step on campus. Time to get over this kid.

Mods should definitely pin this thread and the Bowen Born thread to the top so we can be sure to keep tabs on their stat lines over the next 4 years
Unless bowen gets super yoked in the next couple of years I think he is at the right level. He is a good shooter obviously but can't really be hidden on D.

I think any time you lose 2 top 50 talents who would likely develop into being all big 12 caliber players is a big loss. This roster could definitely use someone like THT for his versatility, Lindell with his grit and big play ability. I agree it was good to cut ties with Lard though.

Loss for production - no doubt. Loss for better team chemistry? I think we're better off.

Who was it Larry Eustachy was talking about when asked about the ISU player being ranked #2 in the conference in scoring? He said that is great but whoever he is guarding each night is #1.

I don't know the correct answer, but my guess would be Jake Sullivan

I know what you’re talking about, but I’m blanking on the name

I think it was Tyray Pearson if I am remembering correctly.
Ah yes. Put up great numbers on the post-Hampton ISU team. That was the first real bad year ISU had had in awhile, so I think it certainly gets forgotten about easily.

I'm guessing it's largely the same guys whining about Darius McNeill putting up 10 per game on horrible shooting and an insane TO rate at Cal that will be on Grill Watch 2020-21.

I figured he could eventually be good, just because while most of these guys were playing tons of basketball on the AAU circuit he was playing baseball, football, and running track. Eventually playing only bball was probably going to allow him to make a jump.

Good luck to the kid. If you worry about every transfer or recruiting miss you'll drive yourself crazy as a college basketball fan.

Tyray was fun to watch, but that year was quite a dud.

Even 10 y/o me knew there was gonna be a drop off losing Tinsley, Horton, Shirley, Rancik, and Evans. But they won what, 12 games? Woof

I wish Monte would have transferred and Clayton Custer had stayed. Custer went to a Final Four!

If this team had all the underclassmen it lost in the past 2 seasons we would be talking about a team that would probably finish third or 4th in the big 12.

Haliburton (JR)
Wigginton (SR)
Bolton (JR)
Horton-Tucker (JR)
Lard (SR)

Assuming above that Lard was not a "problem child" and worked out well. He had way higher of a ceiling than Solomon, obviously, so I figure might as well slot him in at the 5 there.

That team above would be good. It might still be mediocre on defense, but **** it would score.

Good is an understatement. It’s got 4 guys on it getting paid to play professionally. Two of which will likely have a decent cup of coffee in the league for awhile in THT and TH.

Yeah, that team would have gotten run by the bad Prohm teams we've seen.
