***Official College Football Playoff Rankings***

I think we have an outside shot at the playoffs given the rankings. Here are some things that could help:
- ISU beating West Virginia and winning the Big 12 title by beating Oklahoma a second time
- Oklahoma winning out until losing to ISU in the Big 12 championship game
- Oklahoma State winning out and finishing highly ranked
- Texas winning out and finishing ranked
- Louisiana winning out and beating an undefeated Coastal Carolina team to finish in the top 20 or even top 15
- Tulsa, whose only loss is to Oklahoma State, winning out and beating Cincinnati
- Teams ahead of us getting upset
- Ohio State not playing enough games to qualify for the Big Ten championship game
- No Pac-12 teams finishing undefeated

That's all fine and good. But it shouldn't be a revelation. We ARE good. We ARE the best team in the Big 12.
People complaining about this ranking should put any other 'name' school in our position and see if they shouldn't be ranked #9.

Good thing they clicked his mic off and didn't catch his follow up statement, "And I will send a letter to all of their potential future opponents warning them that the great Iowa Hawkeyes who defeated a past National Champion this weekend had items stolen while visiting Ames many years ago" . . . . by an Iowa fan

Can someone summarize what Reece has to say about us? I’m trying to watch the replay but it won’t stream. I noticed he seems to laugh a lot when people are praising this team.
Gary Barta on Iowa State: Their win at Texas was "a great football game," they previously beat Oklahoma. They're first place in the Big 12. Praised Brock Purdy as "a winner" and Breece Hall as "one of the best RBs in the country."

When ISU was revealed as #9 he says something along the lines of "the biggest jump is Iowa State after just surviving Texas". When they talked more he said something along the lines "Texas let ISU have the game". Basically he was downplaying ISU beating Texas and isn't a fan of us at #9.
As another poster said, he has consistently ranked us among the lowest (if the lowest) in all of his AP poll ballots.
Thanks. Yeah I check out collegepolltracker every week. Finally he has us in an acceptable spot this week. Him and Herbie really don’t respect us at all. It was fine when we were progressing into a decent program but we can’t be taken serious as a contender for CFP
I started following Tim Brando on Twitter and I'm glad I did. He is a great advocate for TRUE rankings and not the name on the front of the jersey crap we see year after year. On one of his video segments last week, he went off on the media establishment and said that there are pre-dispositioned teams who get every benefit of the doubt every week and other teams that have to beyond prove themselves to get a fair shake. He was more so referring to the Group of 5 teams doing well this year but he has said all year ISU was underrated until now. You have to think the "media establishment" he is referring to are the Kirk Herbstreits and Reece Davis' of the world that love status quo and can't stand an ISU or Cincinnati in the Top Ten. So be it, our team thrives on having a chip on their shoulder, more fire power to us.
