I didn't realize how elusive the big 12 title game has been for most everyone in the big 12.

OU - 11 trips
TX - 6 trips
KSt - 3 trips
TCU - 1 trip
Bay -1 trip

Oklahoma State should have one, but 2011 fell in a year when they weren't playing the big game.

Gotta keep in mind that West Virginia and TCU have only been in the conference for like 8 or 9 years. TCU finished second in the regular season in 2014 and would've gone, same with Oklahoma State in 2011. Then you have to remember Colorado, Nebraska, Missouri and Texas A&M have all been to at least one Big 12 title game. Really the only schools that have been in the Big 12 since it's inception and not made it or wouldn't have made it if there was a game are Iowa State, Kansas and Texas Tech.

After the games today... ISU clinches a Big12 Title appearance by any of the following:

12/5:
BU over OU
TCU over oSu
UT over KSU
ISU over WVU (control own destiny)

12/12:
BU over oSu
UT over KU
WVU over OU

As far as I'm concerned, the WVA game is huge and I'm concerned we come out flat and the fans emotionally spent.

Yeah we'll see what happens. Imo ISU wasn't very sharp for most of the game Saturday so maybe they'll wake up a bit.

FWIW the last time CMC had a 'win and in' spot to get into a conference title game, his Toledo team choked in 2015. Hopefully he's looking for some redemption on that too.

I was not referring to a covid cancelation. In general if all games get played, I think this is how we wouldn't get to the championship game

I’d be shocked if West Virginia beats both Iowa State and Oklahoma.
Win or lose we are in, but just win. KSU winning out would be ideal so we play OSU(assuming they also win).

I still don't see how a Texas victory over Kansas matters at all.

Texas beat WVU and would have the tie breaker on them and if they beat either KSU (would again have tie breaker) or KU, that would put them in a 2 or 3 way tie. If Texas is the 4th place team, OSU lost to them and would be SOL with respect to the OU and ISU tie breaker.

WVU being the 4th place tie breaker is the only way that ISU loses a tie breaker scenario to a 7-2 OU or OSU, if we lose to WVU. ...however, if WVU goes ahead and beats OU for us, then it's a moot point, because OU would then have 3 losses.

The underrated games in all of this are the two games OSU has remaining, which are both on the road.

TCU is a +1 to +3 dog and per ESPNs projector OSU only has a 45.9% chance to win.
BU will likely be less than +7 and OSU has a 58.5% win chance.

OSU only has a 26.8% chance to win out. Combine this with Texas getting to play a HS team in KU, and ISU being favored at home; we'll be ok.

I expect OSU's OT opting out to have an impact on the Cowboy offense.

3-way ties aren't resolved for the purpose of determining tie-breakers with other teams. In other words, if KSU, UT and WVU all tie for 4th, you would compare our round-robin record against those 3 teams with that of OU/OSU. We would all tie, again, at 2 - 1 against that group. You would only resolve a 4th place tie if it was a 2-way tie, and you'd compare all of our records against the winner of that two-way tie (WVU).The reason the Kansas/UT game matters is because Texas would be 4-5 with a loss to both KU and KSU, making WVU the winner of the 4th place tie with KSU. If Texas beats KSU, then their game against KU no longer matters. They need 1 more win to guarantee them a share of 4th, which would guarantee us a spot in the championship game.

In the event of a 3-way tie for 4th, the championship game tie breaker would come down to score differential between the 3 of us, because none of us have lost to anyone else outside the top 6 teams. Because OSU got stomped by OU, they'd be the odd man out.

Am, however curious about scenarios for teams other than Oklahoma get in.
I assume if OU loses in the freezing cold tundra of WVU on Dec 12th, their out and Okie Lite is IN?
