Definitely.Question: If the Big Ten asked ISU to join their league...would you want ISU to accept?
As much as I laugh at Nebraska. I would kick Baylor out for NU in a heartbeat. There should be at least one border state with a team in our conference. Not that anyone in America cares but it is kind of fun that NUs crybaby bull**** is becoming national news. Of course, the old Big 8 little brothers (KSU, oSu, and us) have known all of this for decades. Nebraska fans think people hate them out of some sort of jealousy when that's never been the case. It's their weird duplicity and odd sense of entitlement that no one can stand. It's like we all have always known their championships were built on quicksand...and when they try to throw weight around it's just irritating. They're a campus sized eye-roll.
It's clear that they're just another program now. What's funny to me is how that move to the B1G was going to so obviously magnify that. They're on the low end of academics, enrollment, and athletic achievement across all men's sports. Even their stadium is unremarkable to their new conference mates. The B1G would've been better off with Mizzou.
Oh well, **** Nebraska.
I think at this his point I’d say no and hope they stick with Warren as long as possible.Question: If the Big Ten asked ISU to join their league...would you want ISU to accept?
It still absolutely astonishes me how much Nebraska has dropped off so quickly. For about 30 years Nebraska was one of the top 3-4 programs in the country. They are nothing now and it’s pretty satisfying.
I'm hoping for something similar in IC when Kirk gets asked to step down. They haven't had the success that Nebby had but Kirk was a Fry disciple that had the blueprint to win there. They have played basically the same way for the last 35-ish years. They are one shakey hire away from being Nebraska. I think reading between the lines, it's obviously tough to win like each program has consistently in states like Iowa and Nebraska (as Cyclone fans can attest). The coaching staffs that have been successful made it look easier than it is because as much as I don't like them, they are/were good coaches.
Definitely.
As much as I hate Nebraska. The Big 10 is the actual problem on this. They didn't allow for makeup games, they didn't allow Nebraska to play another team. They basically screwed over every team. The problem is Nebraska has a history of being a bunch of idiots so this looks bad on them. Truth be told. If the Big 12 handled the situation as bad as the big ten and screwed over Iowa State the exact same way. We would all be throwing a fit right now like Nebraksa. Saying all that. I love it. haha. F you Nebraska.
"Obviously you don't know who I think I am!"Nebraska is still suffering from culture shock from its move to the Big 10.
In the Big 10, disagreements are handled quietly and behind closed doors where a couple schools not Nebraska hold the power.
In the old Big XII, disagreements were taken public and fought out in public. Thankfully the Big XII seems to have moved to the behind closed doors process where the public sees a united conference.
New TV contracts and conference realignment talks will start heating up in the next couple years. If UT or OU fans start to get wandering eyes, you can politely counter with look what happened to Nebraska when they went from being a big dog in the Big XII to a newcomer second class citizen getting pushed around by the established powers in the Big 10. What makes you so sure that won't happen to you if you blow up the conference?
And yes, **** Nebraska!
Yes that attitude worked so well for Neby in the big 10. OU and UT would be treated the same way by the Big 10 or SEC powers."Obviously you don't know who I think I am!"
I'm in agreement. But my point is that those programs have such inflated egos that they can't comprehend being anything but the top dog no matter where they are so logic will not apply to their decisions.Yes that attitude worked so well for Neby in the big 10. OU and UT would be treated the same way by the Big 10 or SEC powers.
The Big 10 has a new commissioner. He didn't have much time to get established before the coronavirus hit. Nebby isn't the only Big 10 school that has gone public with their issues with how the coronavirus has been handled. Its fun to see some other conference be difunctional rather than the Big 12. What could be the common factor????
And you didn't even mention #7 Minnesota, #9 Illinois and #15 Penn State.
