How impactful can this game and the rest of the season be on the program for the future? If we start hot out of the gate on Saturday and sustain success through the rest of the season, does the fact we are getting prime time exposure on Saturday mean we have a chance to improve recruiting further and gain our fair share of the national football conversation? Just can’t help but think we can take the unique circumstances of this season as a way to leverage the program to a higher level. Think Campbell is looking at the importance of the season this way?

Let's hope so. We're currently 57th in recruiting for the class of 2021. Trending downwards, with most of the top in-state talent heading to the hoks. It's probably too late for this class, but not 2022.

I doubt it. He's probably more worried about paying his assistants.

We're not getting prime time exposure. We are getting a national game, which isn't all that unusual. If we can get to 2-0 before OU, and the season looks like it's going well from a COVID standpoint, then we can start talking about increased exposure.

I do think it will be nice to be the only team in Iowa playing every Saturday. Looking forward to drinking those bitter Hawkeye tears.

ROTFLMAO!

You’ve complained about other people on this board being “know-it-alls” Well, they definitely don’t have to know it all to know more than you.

After our showing/beatdown vs. Notre Dame, nobody should take serious talk about a playoff berth. ISU is not nearly in the same league as the top 15 programs. We need at least 2-3 recruiting classes in a row that are in the top 30 at minimum. If we get that, I'll change my tune.

Does 11 AM count as “prime time” for college football? I don’t know, just curious. I would have thought that was more the 2:30 or evening slots—and on Fox or ABC.

Jesus, relax Francis. I guess the truth hurts, but this program IS NOT recruiting at the same level it was in the past few years. It'll show up in a few years from now.

My sentiments exactly. Unfortunately, some people think average recruiting years are no big deal.

It's really the only decent game on ESPN all day and right after game day. Although it kinda sucks because I have to add E$PN back to my cable bill.

I thought I would reup this post.

Look at the positives: we will really appreciate any success this season. I wouldn’t be surprised if we lost out.... or had a great season.... but we will have to play better than the second half to have a chance against KU....
