Power has been out for 35 mins here in Waukee. We back up to Sugar Creek Golf Course and the players scrambled pretty darn quickly.

Just had a nasty storm go through West Ames. Lost a big branch of our maple and a large section of a neighbor's tree just fell onto our in-ground pool. Hoping for no damage to the cover.

Got dark and heard the siren about an hour ago. Lots of rumbling. Sounded like a train in the distance for most of the last hour. Very scary. Seems to be calming down now.

Yeah it got really dark when that storm rolled through WDM to the point the street lights came on. Wife working from home in Grimes says neighbor across the street has a gutter that came off their house and another has some tree damage. Some emergency vehicles on the street behind us but can't see through the houses enough to see why they are there.

We had half of a big maple come down and 3 pine trees completely uprooted in a storm a couple years ago. Keeping an eye on that maple right now. Can see one broken branch, but so far the brave bastard is hanging in there.

Got to go outside and look at things. Only small branches landed on the pool cover. However, it took out two sections of our fence. The branch fell into our yard, but the fence fell toward the neighbor's. Probably means that the posts were rotted and are now broken. Time for another crappy fix-it job by yours truly.

Guess we need better anchors for our trampoline, all 4 straps failed.. Luckily it just tumbled into the corn field behind our house & didn't hit any houses.

That was crazy. I thought my office windows (Johnston) were going to blow out. They were vibrating pretty bad. Power is out at my house on the south side of DSM.

My kids playset blew into the fence into the neighbor's yard. Also lost half of my front tree.
