NO FANS AT CYCLONE GAMES?

That is a prediction, it was at the end of March.

To know if it is a fact today we would have to know the number of covid listed deaths that were actually the cause of covid and not other ailments they had, or how many were going to die soon anyway. I had a distant relative who had cancer reappear and rejected chemotherapy to live longer and was given a short time to live. He contracted contracted covid. He was listed as a covid death.

WoW if correct. Sorry for the challenge.

1st of all people ridiculed the IMHE model from the get go as fear porn when it predicted 100k deaths by August. They then decreased the estimate to 60k based on the measure being taken. When those measures proved not effective enough, it has steadily risen and every time comes in way lower than reality. We are now at 125k dead already with a long time to go to August. They are now expecting 200k dead by Oct 1st and we will likely blow through that.

2nd, let’s use the EU as a comparison because there is a similar population to the US, the pandemic hit about the same time, and yet look at the below graph. And this doesn’t take into account the past few days where we’ve hit all time records.

And to note, I am not a progressive. I am a very proud democrat but not a fan of the Bernies, AOC, etc and more of a Clinton, Biden, Obama, etc fan.

Regardless, I just wish people would take this seriously while not thinking those of us asking for social distancing and masks are somehow trying to take away freedoms. We just realize the only way to get beyond this is to treat it seriously and minimize the loss to both lives and economy.

sympathies, but like it or not, from someone that fills out death certificates, that is a Covid death. If someone has terminal cancer and dies of a heart attack the cause of death is listed as heart attack. It could be heart attack as a result of terminal cancer, but the top line would be heart attack.

Look I have only went to eat at a restauraunt 3x and each was only on an outdoor patio. I don't have a hardcore stance on masks one way or another. I have worn them some and haven't other times going into a grocery store. I have not gone to large gatherings of people.

But there are reasonable people that feel the response to the virus was not proportional especially after we shut down for 2-3 weeks to flatten the curve.

Whenever someone with data or a science background has talked about the subject they are automatically shouted down in the main stream media. You can't have a healthy dialogue when anytime someone presents something that doesn't have the same conclusion the hardcore left has is shouted down.

We were told there would be mass deaths in places like Georgia and Florida. It didn't happen. We were told the research from Stanford was crazy that showed the virus mortality rate was no where near what existing models were showing and they were publicly criticized and censored. The CDC earlier this month came really close to the same overall mortality rate of .35 assuming 35% asymptomatic infections.

I'm not saying to completely ignore increase in cases,of course they should be monitored and someone like Alex Berenson on twitter has done a good job of pointing out that even though we have had increase in cases in some states, we have not necessarily had that same increase in severity. I posted one in the Orlando area. He has pointed out cases are increasing in Texas and Arizona but ICU beds and vents remain largely unchanged, that shouldn't be the case if we have more cases and its not just increased testing and people returning for normal procedures unless the disease is weakening.

Have you if you dismissed this previous information or ANY hardcore progressive on this board that laughed, scorned and dismissed these ideas as crazy came back and admitted you/they were incorrect at all?

Is poor grammar and punctuation a part of your act?

Well you can’t fix stupid. People need to remember that masks are like condoms - you can’t just go around screwing everything in sight and not expect to catch something.

BUT YOU SURE CAN TRY AMIRITE???

If covid has been here a lot longer than we thought and deaths that were attributed last fall to a bad flu season or influenza were actually covid that would add to the deaths. It also would indicate our health system was never at risk of being overrun if it had been here that long. The arrival of the virus to the United States would have been a key part of the equation to assigning an accurate mortality rate also since we shifted from flattening the curve and not overrunning the healthcare system. When anyone tried to reason we certainly didn't have a 3-4% mortality rate and the disease could have been here much earlier than noted, they were shouted down by progressives wanting panic.

I have no idea what you're even trying to say anymore.

It seems to have went a little farther than what you described. The Illinois Dept Health Director explained even those who clearly died of alternate causes but had covid were listed as covid.

The point is its misleading to point to an out of control number of covid deaths, and then interpret that number as a mortal risk to everyone no matter an individual's age or health.

Can you please make sure you edit your avatar to include your tinfoil hat, it would help a lot? Also, there are a few science class offered online if you want to brush up on how those types of things work.

I had a family member in a care facility that tested positive for Covid with no symptoms. A few days after the test she fell, hit her head, and died. She was counted as a Covid death.

Its pretty simple, if covid has been here longer the mortality rate was lower and the disease was not a threat to overrunning our healthcare system.

The article stated those deaths were not counted which means the rate should be higher.

It would have no impact on IFR.

You do realize that thousands of people every day walk into a Hy-Vee that is barely cleaned, right? We've seen millions of people March for BLM in the past month. No massive death tolls.. Iowa hospitals are laying people off and rural medical centers may close forever if we don't get back to a new normal. Wake up dude... How many peoples livelihood depends on athletics? Stop being selfish because you have a white collar job and can stay in your suburban home until medical experts get us more treatment.
Short-sited in addition to being an idiotic post.

i can see this labeled as Covid related still. Unless there is a very clear cause of the fall Covid could have contributed to balance issues, weakness, unknown stroke that lead to fall, etc. I would definitely list it as at least contributing.

It would still get listed as a contributing factor most likely. Unless the die from a car wreck or something. If the die of a heart attack and had influenza, even minimally symptomatic, it gets listed as a contriving cause. What’s to say the stress from the influenza virus didn’t contribute to the heart attack for example. What most people get is that unless there is an autopsy, cause of death is often a crap shoot and is often a list of a few connected conditions culminating in an ultimate cause that is the best educated guess based on any symptoms, known history, and test results. And then contributing factors are also listed. Covid could be in either of these places just like flu and make the death report. It’s nothing nefarious or conspiracy based. No one pressures me to put Covid, not Covid, or anything else on a death certificate.
