NO FANS AT CYCLONE GAMES?

According to Dr. Fauci, the vaccine trials are going quite well. He seems pretty optimistic. And when they do start shooting people up, guys like me will be first in line.

He also wants the public to believe these are short term precautions we are taking to get people to buy into them. He's clearly not above misrepresenting things (see the changed guidance on masks) when he feels its expedient.

That being said I hope he's right.

Can you please make sure you edit your avatar to include your tinfoil hat, it would help a lot? Also, there are a few science class offered online if you want to brush up on how those types of things work.

Cut the crap with the science comment. Science is something we can quantify or have proven results. Stop with the only people that qualify as science are the people with a left progressive ideology. Thats a bunch of crap! There are people with BACKGROUNDS in science that have given differing opinions over the time during this virus. Also, people with science backgrounds can have their opinions/statements swayed by a desire to continue positions of power/control and financial gain just like any other group. So people with a science background should be vetted for their motives like any other person or entity.

It is well documented anyone going to the hospital that had covid was marked as a covid case whether that was the issue or not. It is an absolute fact hospitals had financial incentives to use a covid diagnosis. You had public officials admitting covid was listed even if what people didn't die from was covid. The vast majorities of people admitted with covid had a comorbidity and sometimes several.

Maybe you should switch your avatar to Chicken Little "the sky is falling" or just be honest and list radical progressive.

MLB is set to start play in 30 days. They have NO league plan at all for allowing or not allowing fans and have set out zero guidance. Texas says lets seat 50%. Chicago is saying 8,000 for MLB there. Some teams might start with no fans and hope to allow access later. I expect college football with almost 50 sets of regional approaches to be at least as ****** up as MLB, maybe even more so.

WTF dude, even the Republican governors themselves of those states have said there is a huge increase in community spread of COVID and it is the worst they’ve faced, and only getting worse. If they can break with the political spin and excuse making, maybe it’s time for you to as well. People aren’t just rushing into hospitals for the fun of it.

You don't believe there is a backlog of people needing to complete elective surgeries and screening of medical conditions after abandoning that for a couple of months? There is an increase in hospitalizations but there is also data out there showing the severity is declining. How about being honest and looking into some of the possible reasons or explanations?

There are comments out there showing people in the medical profession are stating the complications don't seem to be as bad as the beginning from the virus. People receiving remdesivir require 5 days of medication so hospital stays are longer. More young people in lower risk groups are getting it and less old people are thats a good thing!

Seriously? I don’t care if people are left, center, or right, so long as they admit that facts are facts regardless of if they support their own agenda or not.

There are absolutely aspects of the pandemic and science in general that are debatable, but things like are masks affective at all, are cases increasing only because of increased testing, etc are all documented and uncontested facts.

You can argue if you think people should have to wear masks, if we should just all have an orgy and hit heard immunity, etc but that isn’t typically what people try to do. Instead, people of all agendas try to live in some fantasy black and white world where you’re either for freedom and no mitigation steps or for holding people in their houses at gunpoint.

I absolutely agree that arguments and opinions are critical to a healthy dialogue, but when facts are simply dismissed or called fake news just because they’re inconvenient is just ridiculous.... and way too common right now.

Here is Florida. In the past couple weeks, testing had been largely consistent (ups and downs) but infections are up 500%. That isn’t just because people are now getting their bowls cleaned out.

Yea, hospitals are having elective things again, but Arizona for instance has shown data for COVID based hospitalizations and they are skyrocketing while non COVID hospitalizations are flat.

Look I have only went to eat at a restauraunt 3x and each was only on an outdoor patio. I don't have a hardcore stance on masks one way or another. I have worn them some and haven't other times going into a grocery store. I have not gone to large gatherings of people.

But there are reasonable people that feel the response to the virus was not proportional especially after we shut down for 2-3 weeks to flatten the curve.

Whenever someone with data or a science background has talked about the subject they are automatically shouted down in the main stream media. You can't have a healthy dialogue when anytime someone presents something that doesn't have the same conclusion the hardcore left has is shouted down.

We were told there would be mass deaths in places like Georgia and Florida. It didn't happen. We were told the research from Stanford was crazy that showed the virus mortality rate was no where near what existing models were showing and they were publicly criticized and censored. The CDC earlier this month came really close to the same overall mortality rate of .35 assuming 35% asymptomatic infections.

I'm not saying to completely ignore increase in cases,of course they should be monitored and someone like Alex Berenson on twitter has done a good job of pointing out that even though we have had increase in cases in some states, we have not necessarily had that same increase in severity. I posted one in the Orlando area. He has pointed out cases are increasing in Texas and Arizona but ICU beds and vents remain largely unchanged, that shouldn't be the case if we have more cases and its not just increased testing and people returning for normal procedures unless the disease is weakening.

Have you if you dismissed this previous information or ANY hardcore progressive on this board that laughed, scorned and dismissed these ideas as crazy came back and admitted you/they were incorrect at all?

I cannot respond to this without caving this thread. Might I suggest you take your "facts" and ideology there?

My response was very targeted to Jeremy's post that was a response to a conversation we were having. This whole thread is about whether ISU should have fan's in the stadium with the covid virus. Its pretty topical.

This is what you were told at the end of March...

It's a diversion. I won't take your bait. I will just repeat - your posts have been increasingly politically oriented & targeted.

This is a CF thread, the last thing we want is facts

That is a prediction, it was at the end of March.

To know if it is a fact today we would have to know the number of covid listed deaths that were actually the cause of covid and not other ailments they had, or how many were going to die soon anyway. I had a distant relative who had cancer reappear and rejected chemotherapy to live longer and was given a short time to live. He contracted contracted covid. He was listed as a covid death.

Most statisticians and public health experts say he is wrong; the death toll is probably far higher than what is publicly known. People are dying at their houses and nursing homes without ever being tested, and deaths early this year were likely misidentified as influenza or described only as pneumonia.

Dr. Anthony S. Fauci, the nation’s top infectious disease expert, told lawmakers this month that the overall toll was likely an undercount. “I don’t know exactly what percent higher but almost certainly it is higher,” he said at a Senate health committee hearing.
