I'm interested in how the NCAA is going to handle the capacity stuff. If some stadiums are completely filled, they'd certainly have an advantage than a stadium that was empty or half full. However, I don't know if the NCAA is going to do anything because it'd be easy for them to say "well that's just the way it is this year, sorry".

While this has been enjoyable reading every ones opinion of whether we will play or not, whether fans will be allowed or not. It really doesn't matter.
The season is still 70 some odd days away, and not one of us has any say in the decision. We do not get to put in our 2 cents whether they should play or not, or whether fans should be allowed to go if they do.

The only say we have in this whole thing, is IF they have a season, and IF they allow fans to attend, whether you will go or not?

We will all make that decision under our own reasons and thoughts.

This is true. But there are events that could change the analysis prior to September. I don't know that those events are likely, but they are possible. Unless, of course, you are of the opinion that future data and events cannot change the decision (which sounds like a pretty stupid way of looking at things to me). I do think there will be substantial pressure to keep things open.

I think pressure to stay open is certainly a thing, much driven by economic factors for these schools and the revenue driven/needed to operate an athletic department. It will also be interesting to see in the coming weeks of the many student athletes who have come back and tested positive (those stories are every where) but how many were hospitalized? Wait until all the students get on campus or high schools. The virus is here, not going anywhere.

Of the 140, there are 43 in ICU. Has been on a downward trend. High was around 164 back in early May.

The Presidents *most likely* will allow fans if the NCAA or conferences allow it. Our Governor is likely going to allow stadiums at 50% capacity to happen.

Even when we get a vaccine I would bet at least 40% of the population won't get it.

Unfortunately a few recent surveys indicated it may be closer to 50-60% that won’t. Which is beyond stupid. I understand not wanting to be the first few guinea pigs, but just burying your head in the sand doesn’t help.

The real question in my mind is how much a vaccine is really going to do. There are some indications that post-infected antibodies wear off after just a couple months and I believe a vaccine would likely either have to be an annual thing or have some sort of boosters. And that’s assuming no significant mutation occurs.

We need to also look at rates in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and WV too.

Those states to me all seem to be receptive to remaining as open as possible. Texas without football??????? Heresy!

I don't know but I will get one just as I get the annual flu shot. Yes, sometimes I still get the flu because it is not perfect but I know that and understand why.

Its not that hard to figure out a large number of the individuals that had covid deaths would have passed in the next 2-6 months, they had a condition of a comorbidity and many times multiple ones. We saw states were reporting anyone that had covid as a covid death regardless if that was what killed them or not.

Can you please make sure you edit your avatar to include your tinfoil hat, it would help a lot? Also, there are a few science class offered online if you want to brush up on how those types of things work.

Of course hospitalizations are going to go up. People didn't go for normal testing/screenings and elective types of surgery from mid/late March through May some later. People need to go have these see these procedures done and we are going to have to catch up on these types of visits.

What is really important is the fact the severity and the need of ventilators is WAY down. Orlando hospitals tell us from 50% down to 3% now!

WTF dude, even the Republican governors themselves of those states have said there is a huge increase in community spread of COVID and it is the worst they’ve faced, and only getting worse. If they can break with the political spin and excuse making, maybe it’s time for you to as well. People aren’t just rushing into hospitals for the fun of it.

The thing that I hate so much in these threads and in society as a whole is that people now think that science and facts are somehow adjustable and just outright dismiss them. You’d can disagree with the root cause of something, what variables feed into it, or even how to solve for it. But things like the infection rates, number of deaths, etc are not debatable, they are scientific facts backed up by data.

When “alternative facts” became a thing 3-4 years ago, our society lost about 20% of it’s IQ overnight.
