Not really. If football is allowed to happen (it will), and fans are allowed in some capacity (up in the air), Jamie will allow fans at Jack Trice. The input of the health board will not matter.

We've been debating football...but if people are not wearing masks because of some self-righteous bid for freedom, it simply won't be safe for us to go.

Guess we wait for the vaccine. :(

This could be part of the possible explanation but I'm not sure its as simple as that. I'm sure there are still older people showing up with covid. To go from 50% to 3% is to big of a drop to only be a factor of the ages seen. But if you are right we see how we should be approaching the disease and Sweeden was probably correct in their response. We should have people in low risk groups attend the games and then stay away from older people until we reach herd immunity or a vaccine or other medicines are developed to help fight it off.

I wouldn't use Sweden as an example to make your case since they have a higher death rate per capita. The public in Sweden is losing confidence in the approach being take. Also, countries around the globe are placing fairly strict restrictions on people traveling from Sweden.

So we agree with the exception of the ISU President nobody in Story county will have a final say on fan attendance. ISU President/State will make the call, and part of the input will be what kind of increases the county experiences as students return to school


It would be interesting to as Gov. Abbot of Texas, given his recent mention of limiting events on the 4th of July, if he were to asked based on what he knows right now if they would allow Baylor, Tech, Texas and A&M to have fans at games this weekend. 3 weeks ago he probably says absolutely, now not so sure.

Pollard certainly has to push the positive and glad he is, and hope he is right. Won't know anything til late July/Early August. So might as well keep planning as though some fans will be in attendance.

We have not treated prior pandemics this way in the past and the evidence is pointing towards we shouldn't have this time also. Take out the deaths of individuals that would have died within a range of 2-6 months anyway and the numbers would look a lot different.

Its not that hard to figure out a large number of the individuals that had covid deaths would have passed in the next 2-6 months, they had a condition of a comorbidity and many times multiple ones. We saw states were reporting anyone that had covid as a covid death regardless if that was what killed them or not.

Agree the spin has moved off of overwhelming the ICUs, but the main stat is now positive test numbers.

How would you be able to keep the social distancing with the current 50% capacity especially with the students. How would you keep everyone in their seats. Most would try to sneak to the center of the stadium (I would) since there would be lots of empty seats and the crowd would be bunched up there. The students all that would attend usually try to get to the front of their section since they usually don't have reserved seats in those sections.

i have a strange feeling that we will get an announcement soon that due to continued threat of transmission of Covid-19 that no fans will be allowed in the stands.

Please help me off my ledge. I want to go to games. It is my fall highlight.

Don't step out til at least Aug 1st, by then we should have a good idea what is going to happen. Heck by that time the schedule may have changed and ISU could be playing Texas Tech in their first game.

If people are allowed to attend, there will be roping off and covering of seats. If you remove said cover you get ejected from the game. Just have consequences for actions
