UT has 13 players positive now. I am now in the camp that does not think we will have a season this fall. This sucks, but I don't see this getting better fast enough to not have people die because of football.

Athletic departments absolutely need the revenue from a football season this Fall. From a medical standpoint, its not the right thing to do, but I would be stunned if a season is not played.

Correct. $$ >>>>> lives
Sadly, that’s always been the case in America. It’s why we’re in this position to begin with.
Yes. The NBA model will not work for college. Not much to learn from them that applies. The only way to do it is what every other team sport that wants to restart their season is doing (one (or two for NHL) place for all games). But that’s not possible for college sports.
College students, whether they play sports or not, are going to contract COVID19. They're not going to socially distance, they're not really going to wear makes, they are going to hang out in groups, etc. We're seeing quite a few football players across the nation coming down with it already. Going forward, the NCAA is going to have to set a standard for those students that have it or may have come into contact with someone that had it, regarding playing in games or not. I just don't think that canceling the football season mitigates much if any risk for college athletes specifically.
Yep. Integrity is the key.Yep. I think we are going to see a lot of games this year where 10+ players are sitting out due to COVID. Depth will be key. Also we need to ensure that nobody is cheating and playing sick players. Some oversight will be required. You know the SEC won’t all play by the rules when wins are at stake.
One kid gets really sick and has a horror story or one kid dies and they’ll just refuse to play. Cant get to NFL with a transplanted lung or in a body bag.
