2 ISU FB players have Coronavirus

So what's the cutoff age of old people needing to remove themselves from society? 60? 70? If nobody else will take any mitigation strategies and intends to permanently take risk of continually spreading COVID instead of killing it off, we need to set an age for people to remove themselves from the rest of society for their own safety. Their problem, not mine!

Being out in public won't cause heart disease or cancer, but it may cause them to get them an untreatable, 8-month-old lung-destroying infection spread by air with little to no indication of its presence.

And you don’t infect someone else, who affects someone else, who infects two other people. It just ends when you either die or fully recover in a week, it’s just the flu. In typical Pride fashion he dove in headfirst to the outcomes but never bothered to even get a rudimentary understanding of what a highly contagious disease is and how it works.

For you concerned about football and transmission amongst players - have you registered these very real concerns about having a football season with JP? This is like the Iowa racial stuff - plenty of Cyclones wanted to see them fail, but very few seemed to give a crap about the victims or about anything other than getting your licks in.

I think a petition should be started by the "Certain Concerned Members of CF" expressing your discomfort with the current and future health of our athletes.

Coronavirus infections would plunge if 80 percent of people wore masks, study says

"Universal masking at 80 [percent] adoption flattens the curve significantly more than maintaining a strict lockdown," researchers wrote in the study

"Masking at only 50 [percent] adoption is not sufficient to prevent continued spread," the researchers added. Replacing the strict lockdown with social distancing on May 31 without masking results in unchecked spread."

Half this board - the CNN/MSNBC contingent - will now cease wearing masks simply due to this being from Foxnews. If it had come from CNN, the other half would quit wearing. You need to find a non-partisan publication - like AutoTrader - to get the message out AND to sell your rims.

What needs to happen is that the people in charge need to monitor the situation and keep it under control. Some people will get the virus throughout the course of the season. That's just inevitable. Don't panic, but know when to pull the plug if the virus starts spreading too much. Will they? I'm not as sure as I once was, considering the number of people they are allowing into the stadium for games.

People like our athletics department medical staff? Our Athletics Administrator? Our coaches and trainers who spend so much time with these young men and women and who want nothing but the best for our student athletes?

Bold policy statement right there!

I'm kidding - if anyone thinks our leadership is playing fast and loose with the lives of these young people under your care, you haven't been paying attention to what real leadership looks like.

Other side of the coin - if you have underlying conditions that put you at greater risk, it is YOUR responsibility to remove yourself from harm for your protection and personal health.

Otherwise the state will do compassionate things like ordering nursing homes to house sick patients.

Like half of our country has diagnosable underlying conditions lmao. Old people in nursing homes should've taken proper responsibility to not stay in nursing homes, that's their own fault. The state had nowhere else to put sick patients, nobody wants them in their own homes and nobody wants them in hospitals either (trying not to overwhelm them and such).

But still, suggestions on age cap of going outside the home? I'm thinking 55 or so.

I'm a proud member of MLAMFLMF. (My life and my family's lives matter first).
The "I got mine, **** all y'all" attitude does not work when it comes to a highly contagious virus. If everyone did that it would be a disaster. So you can thank the people who actually do care about all fellow human beings and understand how viruses work for helping keep your family safe, not yourself.

I'm 56 and comfortable in public. I have my mask and where it whenever I duck inside a store. I don't know you and I would be foolish to put my health in your hands. You would be foolish to put your life in my hands as well.

I'm not as comfortable telling other people what to do and how to live as some seem to be.

Tell me exactly what that means to you. Make up as much as you can based on those few small words. Did I say I didn't love my family? Did I say my family doesn't wash hands and wear masks? Did I say we go to the Ozarks and mass party?

We wear masks. We wash hands. We limit all unneeded exposure. WHY? Because my health and my family are the most important thing in my life. Not your family. Not the nursing home folks in NY but MY flesh and blood that surrounds me daily so **** your assss take because it doesn't hold any water.

I can appreciate the honesty about selfishness, I really can and do. Takes a lot to admit it.
I mean, is that really false? Obviously you feel different with a family member dying than you do with a stranger. Your family and friends are priority number 1. Doesn’t mean you still don’t want to see others protected. Also, just because someone is high risk, doesn’t mean they are doing enough to help themselves. I’ve seen plenty of obese people that are in their 60s and 70s at Walmart or other places not wearing masks. Just because someone is high risk, doesn’t always mean they are doing enough themselves to limit their own risk.

The national champion this year will be whatever team is able to remain the healthiest through this virus.

So basically the Alabamas and Ohio States, since their entire position groups typically are players that would star for most teams.

I'm curious to see what happens if it's decided that players can redshirt for this season if they don't want to play.

I'm young, I'm not supposed to care. I'm the one supposed to be saying it's media driven BS that's the same as the flu and only kills people I don't care about. If only I had bought low in the markets... That said, the people telling you what to do and how to be are just suggesting mild, temporary changes just to try and kill this thing instead of assume it's an unkillable, permanent risk that should be just ignored and moved on from (unlike other pandemics before it).

Of course it is, but the advice to save yourself or your own family is the exact same advice everyone else gets. You can't prevent heart disease or cancer, but you can prevent spreading an airborne infection to everyone in a 5 mile radius. One would think at that point it would become a matter of societal good when it can affect anybody at any time, even though it does disproportionately affect older people. Sure, not everyone will take necessary steps, but those that do still help reduce the overall rate of transmission. We need to give up the entire practice of medicine altogether if we assume that because something doesn't work 100% of the time, it should be permanently cast away.

Like I said, tell everyone above 55 to never leave their houses unless they want to get sick and die. Problem solved for everyone, right? Or is that telling them what do to how to live their lives?

I'd actually take it as confirmed and even more serious if even FNC can't work their way around it.

The other channels will just spend 40 minutes with 5 people talking about it again and again and again and showing clips of someone hiking in the middle of nowhere and mentioning that some STILL don't wear them.
