well this is bad news too. It sucks that we weren’t after him, but now half of his final list are other big 12 schools
Yeah but with what we’ve seen this off season, he might only have offers from Tulsa or staying at Air Force.
Who? jk, kinda, but still.
Seeing Air Force on this list sounds like a fairly likely reason to be slow playing the transfer process. He'll probably just stay put.
I would be curious, does anybody know if athletes at service academies would be under similar restrictions and impasses as active duty members during the pandemic? I've had family members and friends get told that their paperwork for pending job changes and transfers were either just cancelled, or weren't going to get further processed until the restrictions on all military started to relax later this summer.

apparently he’s gotten a few crystal balls to Michigan today. If Michigan isn’t in the picture with JCL I feel a lot better.

SG Makale Foreman (GT): Cal, ISU, Santa Clara
What Changed:
Added SG Makale Foreman and his top 3 that includes ISU. CG AJ Walker (T-2) eliminates ISU. CW eliminates SG Chaundee Brown (T-1) who had a top 4 of Gonzaga, Illinois, ISU, and LSU but probably going to Michigan tomorrow.

While ISU may be interested in taking both, I am not sure Coleman-Lands and Foreman would both want to come to ISU.
I think it's more likely we take one of the two with Coleman-Lands being the preferred guy.
Then I think Prohm and staff keep an eye open if a bigger wing comes available later in the summer. Either transfer, JUCO, etc.

It's easy to say go after every high quality spring transfer- but a coach also has to consider how bringing in a grad transfer might result in an existing player or incoming recruit to transfer out.
Because guards for this year and next is a more pressing need.
If we’re going 4 out, we don’t need more than 3 bigs imo, although we may want 4. We’ll have Foster and Conditt to play the 5. I assume they’ll add another big in the Class of 2021.
I would definitely be interested in a good sit-out big man to replace Solo.

I would too, but I think we’re going to need to “over-sign” at the guard spot in effort to ensure we have what we need the next two years. It’s a guards game.
We don't need 3 more immediately eligible guards for this recruiting class. A sit out would be a class of 2021 recruit lol.

Prior to Harris, we had three guards scheduled on the roster for the next two years, only one of which is proven to be a Big 12 starter level. Unless you can find a couple of certain Big 12 guards with immediate eligibility and multiple years left, you’re going to have to sign some for this year and some for next year imo. If they knew Harris would be eligible and were certain he’s a Big 12 pg, I think there would be a better chance of signing a 4, alongside hopefully JCL and then the best sitout combo.
Yes, a sitout Big would end up in the same as class of 2021. That’s why I mentioned getting in the class of 2021 rather than as a sitout now (it wouldn’t have been equitable to say we’d fill the need with a 2022 big). Same eligibility year, different scholarship/resource allocation. Guards are our foremost need imo, hence I think there’s value in delaying the signing of the Big. With 4 out, they can get by with a freshman big being the third big in 2021-22.
I think we’re going to see Dubar and Blackwell grow into getting a lot of time at the 4, along with Johnson and Foster.
Because they will have two bigs in Foster and Conditt and I think that is all they want. Blackwell, Dubar, Johnson are all guys that could play the small ball 4. They definitely need to land a good big in this next class though.
um because you have Conditt and Foster waiting in the wings to replace Solo in 21-22.

I looked up his stats and compared them to some Big 12 guys from last year. Coleman Lands averaged 11.1 points per game on 32.1% from 3. Here are four guys with similar numbers last year.
Courtney Ramey (Texas) - 10.9 points per game on 31.3% from 3
Kyler Edwards (Tech) - 11.4 points per game on 32.2% from 3
Andrew Jones (Texas) - 11.5 points per game on 38.3% from 3
RJ Nembhard (TCU) - 12 points per game on 31.3% from 3
All of those guys are solid Big 12 players and I think that’s the hope we would have if Coleman Lands came to Ames
