Enjoyed it so much later on when knicks made the finals and he went 0-17 in game 7.
Love Mike but really disappointed they left out that game 6 with Portland was no picnic. Bulls down 16 I believe going into the 4th quarter and Bulls reserves eliminated that deficit with MJ on the bench.
******* John Starks man. I was born in 88 and remember watching him on Sunday Afternoons when there were tons of Bulls/Knicks/Pacers on tv at my grandmas. My grandma and I would just talk about how much we hate John Starks.
Was also good to see some context to the whole Isiah Thomas being left off the Dream Team thing. Sorry *******. You played the way you did with the crew you did and acting the way you did, it's no surprise that none of the top guys wanted to play with you. Should've thought it through dumbass.
So I don't remember the gambling stuff during that Knicks series but again I was only 12.
Before last night I was of the opinion was his first retirement was 80% because of his dad's death 20% other reasons. After last night I think it's more 50% about his dad and 50% burnout because of media coming at him over his gambling.

It’s really why I’m not bothering with this. I’m just not that interested in watching Jordan run down everyone he had issues with 25+ years ago (basically, everyone not on his Bulls teams and his few selected friends) and discrediting nearly every team he’s ever played. I’m sure there’s more to it than that, but every time I hear highlights to it either on TV or the radio, it just comes off as Jordan pissing on the graves of those he buried long ago. I’m sure a lot of people love that, but to me, just let those 6 rings and all those MVPs do the talking for you.
I'm in the same boat. I've always subscribed to the theory it was related to the gambling. But i just get the sense after 3 in a row he was burnt out. Had kind of lost the joy in it all. The gambling probably played a role, but I'm with you, I think he was just worn out.
I've enjoyed the series, but I think it's clear Jordan has "creative control" over the narrative.
I'd agree. However there's been books written about Jordan. His story is out there. What was always missing was him sitting down and giving his own real recount of everything, and I don't think you get that in a context that's going to portray him negatively. So in that regarding, it is what it is.
As I watch it I do think there's a good deal of revisionist history going on though.
