Land O Lakes changing "Racist" packaging

Apparently this is the new design. Honestly I like it a lot. Seems to me to be a marketing screw up to make it about the previous design instead of the fresh new design. They must be from the thought that all publicity is good publicity. I think they could have made the design change without any controversy.
If you hold it just right that "O" is quite sexual and offensive to me.

I'm just so sick of companies changing their branding to try to make themselves more appealing to the market and sell more product.

Are they though? I would think brand recognition would be paramount on something like this. But to be honest, I can't recall ever putting much thought into the brand of butter I select.

That is a different way of thinking about it that might have some validity. People might stew over it but I think the media can't afford to given there is much bigger news to cover at the moment
I guess I have felt that there’s only so much news on the virus they can talk about during the day.

My butter selection usually comes down to "which brand is cheapest?"

I mean, that's their call though, isn't it? They're free to change it. Free to change it back too, if they think it will sell more butter. That's the end goal; selling as much butter as they can. Companies don't come by these decisions lightly. They do tons of market research. And apparently Land O Lakes thinks they can sell more butter with a redesign. They might be correct or they might not be. But responding to market changes is a very natural thing.

As I get older, it's a little sad to see things associated with my childhood disappear. As a kid, I remember a friend that showed how cutting out her knees the same size as the butter she was holding and moving it up, gave us the closest thing we could get to a dirty picture. Kids nowadays don't need imagination they just jump on the internet and find things I could never imagine! o_O

What did you animals do to little Debbie, the Morton salt girl and aunt Jamima?

With the packaging or the product?

The butter bricks. Grabbed the cheapest package there and they were all boxed the same. Get home and the wife goes to open it and instead of four sticks, it was the brick that my mom used to buy.
