I think most of us stopped falling for that one (with both basketball and football, for that matter) approximately five years ago. Texas is always mediocre.

Our head coach is 4-6 against them so I don't think it matters how good they end up being, we'll struggle with them, especially in Austin. Seems like we split with them even when we're good, that goes back to the Fred years.

Texas is never bad, they're just never good either.

Can we at least maybe save the meltdown until we know for sure we aren't getting him? He's said nothing but good things about us. If he does pick Cincinnati it will only be because it's closer to home. Still trying to stay in contact and show him what he has to come by coming here.

Remember all the "we will just replace them with high impact transfers" takes when half our team transferred? Those were the days.

Yep, and I remember the same thing this fall from people trying to convince themselves it was ok that half our freshmen class didn’t even make it the first game.

I’d take those two. Add in the AF transfer, and it’s not a horrible spring. No home runs, but hopefully all base hits.

AND plenty of time to fill those spots. Most coaches can fill a roster within 2 years.

When you inherit a tough situation, the results tend to be apparent later rather than sooner.

I’m guessing the rest will be “buy” games.

It wouldn’t be easy even with a good team, let alone the team we put on the court next year.

Hopefully Johnson and the 4 Freshman are all better than expected. Still need a PG unless Walker lives up to Prohms “clone of Halliburton” hype, or Johnson lives up to his “Point Forward” hype.
