Survivor: Winners at War

Nick was my pick to win and he aligned himself with two people who had a previous relationship. Come on man. Thankfully its merge time.

Meh...I wouldn't trust Michelle any farther than I could throw her. She wouldn't hesitate to turn on Wendell because he "hurt her". My guess is that the two of them deserved each other.

I'm no Sherlock Holmes but I'm pretty sure he cheated on her

Last 2 days have been one gigantic chaos at work having to log some long hours due to the IT chaos we have at work right now trying to get people setup with hardware to work from home because of COVID. Logged almost 13 hours yesterday and didn't get home till close till 9pm so Survivor was my 1 release for the day before going to bed.

I think it is clear the old school players are having a hard time adapting to the way the game has evolved. Yul was another victim of that, I think he just got too strategic and too controlling and these newer players sense opportunity as soon as 1 tries too hard to control things. We've seen in more recent seasons how they use the "voting blocks" to make moves and blindsides and that means having a little flexibility with who you work with. You may not want to vote with someone every time but you have enough relationships you don't burn the bridges and you keep that person open as an option for another vote. I think that is what saved Wendell because Michele and Nick thought it was probably all or nothing if they stuck with him while Wendell is such a wildcard right now he is not a make or break player to be aligned with because he's already put a target on himself and he's going to be more reliant on them than they are on him going forward.

The fire token thing keeps getting more intriguing. I was laughing when they were telling Sandra all they were eating were a couple cups of rice a day when Tyson has a secret stash of peanut butter they don't know about. When Sandra said she will always be the queen my thought was not if a woman wins this season as I think a 2 time female winner who just won a season of all winners will be the the all-time greatest Survivor. Was glad to see Yul give a token each to Sarah and Sophie. Sarah is still the one I am rooting for the most with Denise 2nd as we gotta root for our Iowa girls. Sophie is starting to grow on me a bit too, really like how her and Sarah have bonded and I hope those 2 can pull in some solid players at the merge to be on the right side of the numbers. Ben is another of my favorite players who seems to be pretty tight with Sarah and Sophie too so I hope those 3 keep playing together. I think Adam's days are numbered at this point. He keeps talking too much and digging himself a bigger hole because he thinks he can play all angles and manage it then someone calls him out on it and basically has to curl up in a corner and do damage control.

Guess we all forgot about last week. Not too surprised to see Wendell voted out although the way they did the edit it made it seem more like Nick and Adam had a better chance of going home.

Glad it was anyone but Rob that got back into the game from extinction. Much like Sandra I'm ready for him to retire from the game as his schtick is growing old to me. Not that I like Tyson a whole lot better but he has a much better approach than Rob does. I could have seen Rob go full blown revenge mode and tried to play his controlling games again and since he would of brought an idol with him may have stirred up some chaos on the first vote but I still think those left likely would want to get him out quick if that is how he tried to play. I think Tyson knows he is on the outs and is just going to lie in the weeds for now until he can find an opening. Also think that Ben and the stronger players have a good idea that they need to stick together and basically be shields for each other else the weaker players are just going to pick them off if they turn on each other. Will see how that plays out but I would be a bit disappointed if on a season with some of the greatest players to win the game if the final 3 looked like Adam, Michele, and Kim.

I think the star of the show thus far is Tyson by far.

Agreed the Wendell edit the past two episodes were odd considering his exit this week. Could be a case Wendell gets back in later though. CBS 100% controls the narrative when the show has already been filmed.

however, I think top 3 to win at this point are Jeremy, Kim, and Michelle.

I don't like players coming back into the game once voted out at all, but coming back at the merge is at least tolerable. Disappointed they're going to let another player come back later in the game, even if it is likely to be one of our favorites (Rob has gotten an insane amount of screentime btw, he's my pick to come back whenever that happens).

I'm hoping that, no matter how it turns out, that this is the final, last, goodbye to Rob, Sandra, Tyson, Parvati, et al... They've had their time in the sun. Go away.

Rob and all the other players that didn’t get back in are members of the jury now. Rob is done.

Ideally my final 3 is Sarah, Denise, and Ben but realistically if even 1 of them gets there I'd be thrilled. Again my Iowa bias is showing here but Sarah to me always is finding ways to play the game while keeping the target off her and as soon as it is on her she has the social relationships to get the target off her.

I too think it is time for the old school players that have been on multiple seasons to ride off in the sunset and never be seen again. This season has made it pretty obvious that Rob and Sandra's time on the show is done. They couldn't adapt to how the game is played now and the same tactics they won with previously don't play well with the newer players. Along with them Parvarti and Tyson were big targets from the start too but I think Tyson at least knows he has to adjust if he wants to make the most of this 2nd chance and Parvarti just never got that chance because she aligned herself with Rob who was probably public enemy #1 from the start.

I hope you're right but I think Denise is going to be a major target from here on out.

Where are you seeing this?

The fact that they sent the jury back to Extinction and not Ponderosa means 1 more person will get a chance to come back into the game at some point. I don't see the winner of this season being anyone that comes back from extinction because these players are all winners of their season and if you played this game from day 1 without going to the edge of extinction you aren't about to let someone that got a 2nd chance have a chance to win this season after all you went through to get to the final 3.

The 1 person that came back from the original season of Extinction island and won was Chris Underwood and he isn't even on this season. He played it perfectly taking out Devins in the fire challenge who likely would have won otherwise and this season I don't see a similar scenario being enough to win over the jury when all 3 left will have been former winners. The only case you would need to make the jury is you were never voted out of the game and they were.

I hope you're right but I think Denise is going to be a major target from here on out.

I think she will be too and I don't see her making the final 3 but I still have to root for her since she is from Iowa and she took out the Queen in Sandra which will always be one of the biggest moves in Survivor history.
