Probably just a sign of the time, especially as we inch closer to NCAA allowing student-athletes to make money off their likeness. But a school so in denial like Nebraska spending money to add a program to help players get more followers is about as on-brand as it gets in Lincoln.

But for now, it's hilarious to think of Martinez being late for practice, gripping to the handicap rails in the bathroom for dear life since he took too much of his Instagram fit tea he promoted.

The one thing Nebraska has other than a good history is fanatical fan support. I wouldn't doubt that their players could make more than SEC players as far as endorsements. They're probably not going to step over the rules like the SEC will with bags of money, but the local companies will choose a Nebraska player over any other local celebrity to endorse their products. It's a cult over there.

We will not compete in this area. Maybe a Niang or a Purdy will get $1-2k to do a commercial or maybe a cut of jersey sales, but the average player will not see anything. I guarantee that every decent starter for Nebraska is going to see $.

Good for them, I hope ISU will do something similar. I have always wonder what is stopping a university from starting a Pro Athlete major. We have people in the band majoring in band, in chorus, in theater.
Why not have a professional athlete major, have class on how to choose an agent, how to work with your finances, what life is like in the pros, etc. Giving kids information and education on what life is like when they are really getting paid to play a sport.
