I love the way CMC and Manning use the 3 TE's in our Power Spread Offense but we may be losing all 3 of the main guys at that position. The staff is hitting the recruiting trail hard to add some depth to Skylar Loving-Black, Easton Dean and potentially D'Shayne James. As for HS Recruiting Iowa State is sitting very good with 4 Star Ohio Native Jack Pugh. Instate Player Max Llewellyn has 3 CB picks for ISU. AJ Rollins is the #4 Player in the State of Nebraska, the Omaha Native is also Cousins with Breece Hall. ISU is also in the running for JUCO TE Quentin Moore with Oklahoma State looking like the early favorite for the Independence CC TE.

Thanks for posting about Jack Pugh. Hadn't heard of him yet so I watched his film. Definitely would be an impact player for us and has a very high ceiling!

As far as the future, the 4 TEs we likely lose after this year will be a big loss no matter what. Hopefully Dean and Loving Black can add some weight and step in as Big 12 ready TEs for 2021. They've got 18 months yet!

The kid from Central Decatur (LB) has tight end written all over him.

I think they like a couple of walkons as well, Latusek and Rus. Probably not anything special but they can give you another blocker similar to Seonbuchner.

I could be happy with us becoming known as TE U... that and DE were what I played mainly growing up and through HS.

Campbell said Dean will be the best TE ever to play at ISU after he's done.

It will be interesting to see what they do there. The 3 TE offense really gave us something unique last year and was tough to stop. Losing Soehner really hurt us in the bowl game. We will probably lose all three guys next spring. They are high on Dean and Loving-Black, but those two and walk-ons isn't enough to keep running that set. And it's tough to imagine a TRFR really contributing there. I saw that the JUCO Moore got a Washington offer...he's going to be a tough get.

They will move someone to F if they can't make it happen with current personnel.

There was some talk about D'Shayne James moving over to TE from WR group.

I think that he'd make a good flex TE. He's already 220...it's not a stretch to think he'd be 245 in a few years. But, he's more like Loving-Black in the 6'2-6'3 range instead of the 6'6-6'7 guys we have now. That will change the offense a little.

A little birdy told me that a position change is in the works for a current player. To play the h backroll/ fullback position. Not sure who it is.
