My stepmother never did either, and was horrified that my sisters and I all chose to pump our own most of the time. "Ladies don't do that"...
must mean you’re not a lady KC?

Every time I see the "JFK to LHR in under 5 hours" thread title I expect to open it and see it full of JLH pictures and GIF's.
I now remember the realtor saying that the in vogue thing is house warranties. Not sure what that means, she said if there is an issue that somebody pays $75 bucks and everything is covered for like six months.
It has been a few years (15+) since we bought so I am foggy on details. The sellers and/or their realtor threw in a home warranty that I think was 1 year. I remember at least two things that it covered in that time - I'm not sure if there were others. We had a circuit board go out on the built in microwave so they replaced the board. We had the garbage disposal start leaking because it was corroded. They replaced the whole disposal. Those two alone were worth the warranty because I am sure we paid for it in our purchase price.Well the deductible is $75 per issue. It is hit and miss but very nice to have as a buyer IMO. We have used it numerous times for various things (broken gas regulator on oven, worn out water heater at house in KS etc.) but it can be hard to get them to cover things.
I'm assuming you'd be expected to tip the guy pumping your gas that you have no option to do yourself too.
One of the gas stations in my town switched from Citgo to BP last year. They are trying to get everyone to pay at the pump or prepay. My boss doesn't like that since we have to use 4 pumps at once sometimes. We never know how much fuel we are going to get, so prepaying is not an option. He doesn't use his card because he said it locks if he uses it on too many pumps at once. Luckily the morning attendant inside knows us and let's us pay after.
Now if we could just get common sense instilled in the people who block the diesel pump when there are 5 other pumps open. The diesel pump is right next to a regular gasoline pump, and it's the very first pump when you pull in. It's designed that way to get trucks with trailers like ours in, but so many people use it because of convenience. It's good that someone at the station can use some common sense and keep a good account there.
One time I tried to put gas in my motorcycle in Laramie Wy. It didn't have pay at the pump and he wanted me to tell him how much I wanted. I said I wanted to fill it so I didn't know. I gave him a 20 and said just let me fill it and you can give me the change. Nope, he wanted an exact amount so I rode into town where there was a modern pump that took credit cardsIt's good that someone at the station can use some common sense and keep a good account there.
Watched it last weekend.Roadhouse is on AMC. He just ripped the guy's throat out.
You know, you really taught me a lesson on that one. I'm very careful about not using that station unless it is the only one available. So you got at least ONE convert. Now if we could just get common sense instilled in the people who block the diesel pump when there are 5 other pumps open. It actually works well for us because we can fill the truck (gas) and chipper (diesel) at the same time, when no idiots are blocking it of course.
I generally don't pull up to the diesel pump unless there are no other pumps available. At that point, I figure diesel users will have to wait just like any other user. Now if we could just get common sense instilled in the people who block the diesel pump when there are 5 other pumps open. When I spent 6 weeks in a wheelchair after my foot surgery I would wheel myself into the bathrooms at Hilton. One time I was working my way toward the stall, and three young children (elementary age) when running past me, straight into the wheelchair stall. Their mother walked past me, looked at me, shrugged her shoulders and went into the stall with her kids.EDIT: I used to also often use the handicap stall when I was taking a child in the restroom. Often there isn't room for a parent and child in the regular stalls.
Followed up by The Outsiders. Great movieWatched it last weekend.![]()
