Barnes ready for visits

North Carolina? They have only won 4 NCAA titles and only 74% of their games. They are far from infallible. Kentucky has even won more games than UNC. Gimme a break. Why UNC? Because he likes blue?

My feeling is if he was coming to Iowa State he would already be committed. I mean really, do you think he is waiting to see who has better dorm food?

He said he wasn't going to commit until the summer before his senior year. Giving him time to weigh all of his options and to be free of the stress his senior year. If I were in his shoes I would want to hear what everyone has to offer me; even being a lifelong Clone fan. That said...give the kid a break. This has to be an amazing time in his life to be able to choose any school in the country to play for for the next 1-4 years before he goes big time. If he chooses us that is awesome, if he doesn't, I can promise you I will support him 100% and I am sure most of you will as well.

Very well put. Because by all accounts he is such a great young man, this town and all of his friends will support him wherever he goes. I am still betting on Iowa State.

1-5...I heard he's redshirting freshman year regardless :biglaugh:

I talked with stubbs today and he said Harrison always is wearing unc gear and he's always been a huge fan of them. Stubbs said he's most likely going to unc. He's on harrison aau team

don't waste anymore time on this kid . . he is gone and has stiffed armed ISU throughout the process. Let him join the ranks of Heinrich, and what's his name from Monona. Move on guys . . move on . . he is not interested in ISU from everything I'm reading.

Because they are good right now. He has a chance toplay a lot of quality minutes. National exposure each week. Almost a guarantee to play in the big dance. Roy plays a VERY player popular offense.

oh and he likes blue....

I am not taking anything away from him. And if he goes to play for duke I wish him well, just not duke. But, honestly, if he was coming to ISU it is my OPINION that it would already be a done deal.

Just a thought...McDermott should have Johnny Orr sit down with Barnes. I know Johnny hasn't been head coach in a long time, but he's a legend at Iowa State and you can never under estimate that kind of influence.....

You do realize that you visit a school before you commit to it don't you? He has only officially visited ISU, Duke and Kansas.

I don't believe he has had an "Official" visit anywhere. Can he even take them yet? I was under the impression all the visits he took were on his own dime so far.

I really like your thought here. I have had the privilege of talking to Johnny and he is what you would call a TRUE CLONE. He bleeds cardinal and gold and he is so damn wise. Ok, I know all of you know that...but I have never met anyone that can talk as in depth about the Clones as he can. If he were to sit down with Harrison I think this would be an awesome eye opening experience for him.

No problem with the idea, but I'm guessing that this type of interaction could easily cross the line to be a recruiting violation. I'm pretty sure that Johnny would be classified as a booster in the eyes of our friends the NCAA.

Orr also still talks to Harrison's dad on almost a weekly basis... I'm sure the NCAA could see that he is a family friend.

I think we should all assume Money Reynolds is by far a better player than Harrison Barnes based solely on the fact that Money's thread expands over 40 pages while Harrison's thread has only reached page 8.

All those Harrison Barnes believers need to start posting in here. Let's go people!

It's not the pages in the thread, it's the number of threads that counts!!! Barnes wins...

The longer it goes the better for us. Sometimes the big dogs don't like to wait and will fill there scholly with the other next big thing. Basically Harrison is ranked 3rd. They will take the 10th rated guy if he is ready to commit. Not a huge talent difference there. The UNC thing is scarry for ISU though.
