Way up there
Based on the complete lack of interest for tickets to the Kansas game, it's pretty evident that the fans have already moved on from Prohm and decided it's time for something different. I don't recall this much apathy over a KU game in my lifetime.

It's pretty crazy how cheap tickets are. I know in the past, I didn't hesitate to drop $200-$250 for a pair of KU tickets. You can get in the door for $15 tomorrow night, maybe less by tip off.

Wasn't that the narrative before Seton Hall though?

It is weird that it's even a thing though. But, that's the consequence of results.

What's tough is this isn't a thing where ISU just had a rough start and they can get into a groove and finish decent like 16-17.

then you must be pretty ******* young. I vividly remember Kansas games in the McDermott era with a couple hundred empty seats and several hundred ku fans.

You have lots of good or valid points in your fire prohm diatribe, don’t fall back on false narratives.

3 straight losses 2 of them bad (Iowa and Famu) and a close loss to TCU is taking the shine off of this season pretty darn fast. ISU fans are pretty faithful but we sure as hell expect wins in Hilton.

Pollard is a cross country guy, he hasn’t hired anyone great for hoops on his own. Keep in mind, Fred came to him. But yes, that’s his job, not mine. Curious if the Prohm defenders are still out in full force after the last few weeks watching the team “max out”

So everyone critical of Prohm should have a successor in mind? Huh? Isn't that the AD's job? This is Pollard's research project - not the fans'.
There are other Chris Beards out there. He was a virtual unknown. How many Tech fans were initially excited about him? He was fired there as an assistant![/QUOT

Bottom line is: ISU football is much better than when Campbell took the job as HC. ISU hoops is much worse than when Prohm took the job as HC. Why is that so hard for people to understand?

Because that's what happens here....the same way people act like 'there, it's fixed' because of a 3 day tournament just prior.

Repeating but the 6/11 loss wasn't that big of a deal. The 2015 UAB team was way less talented than OSU, and ISU just didn't play well so it's a bad scenario.

The way the season went as a whole though would point to some things though that are worth questioning, along with taking a realistic look at where the program really is in year 5.

The 'Well, CMC went 7-5, why does he get a break?' narrative doesn't work that well since at least there's been stability in the program, and CMC really since his first year has yet to consistently get beat or have his team come out looking just totally lost. Add in that he only had uphill to go.

With football, as fans we generally know what we're going to get, with basketball, we don't.

Going to have to disagree with you with the bolded. Sure he didn't have to actively search for a coach, but he still took a huge risk on a guy who had never coached before, which turned out to be an absolute success that resurrected the program.

And there's the fact he had to dig it out of the 2-10 and 3-9 seasons Rhoads was giving us. He's without a doubt elevated the program. Meanwhile Prohm took a winning program and has moved it backwards. Not comparable really

Is he actually any good at coaching? I don't care enough about the NBA to know but I know none of his teams were very good, which makes me a little worried about hiring him.

Long time shooting coach. Shooting coach for Andrei Kirilenko and many others. Nba coach of the month and runner up for Coach of the Year in 2013 to Greg Popovich.

Yeah he can coach.

Pollard hired Martin Smith to be his boy's personal coach. He also talks about "fit" to the university. Smith comes in and tells the team no one can major in engineering. Great fit at an engineering school.
